Four of the album covers for Glee’s upcoming 9th episode, “Swan Song” have surfaced, revealing and confirming the music!

According to Freegal, 4 songs we’ll hear on Glee episode 9, “Swan Song,” are:

  • “All That Jazz” – originally from the musical Chicago, allegedly performed by Cassandra July and Rachel Berry
  • “Being Alive” – originally from the musical Company, allegedly performed by Kurt Hummel
  • “Being Good Isn’t Good Enough” – originally by Barbra Streisand, allegedly and most likely performed by Rachel Berry
  • “Don’t Dream It’s Over” – originally by the band Crowded House

The album covers confirming these four songs can be seen below:

Episode 9, “Swan Song” isn’t set to air until December 6. It looks like this episode will feature Kurt and Rachel’s NYADA setup in New York City very heavily if the alleged performers of the songs is true. We can’t wait to see what kind of hotness Rachel and Cassandra July bring to the table when they perform “All That Jazz,” one of the most popular pieces of music in American musical theater!

Do any of the songs or performances above get you excited for episode 9 “Swan Song?”

Don’t forget to check out this gallery of photos that was recently released by Fox featuring a couple of glimpses of what we can expect from “Swan Song” on December 6!

I am most excited for “All That Jazz” being a HUGE Chicago fan and musical fan in general!

  • Sarah

I’m so excited to hear Chris’s voice again! His talent is SO underused!

  • LilyLuna

I admit, I’m not as well-versed in musical theatre as a lot of Gleeks are so I don’t really know any of these songs, but I’m looking forward to hearing them anyway. We haven’t heard as much of Chris and Lea this season, which has been okay, but I miss their voices!

  • Anna S.

    Ooh! Bringing in some Sondheim!!

  • guest

haven’t they already done “all that jazz”?

    • Marvin Grajeda

      No they did “Nowadays”

    • Jules

didn’t rachel and holly do all that jazz already??

  • Lotte

I am so looking forward for ‘Being Alive’!

  • Ross

Didn’t Carmen Tibideaux tell Kurt at his first NYADA audition that ‘Being Alive’ from Company is one of the most overheard audition songs? Good luck Kurt, you will need it!

    • SeanV23

You’re correct! “Music of the Night” from Phantom of the Opera, “The Impossible Dream” from Man of La Mancha, and “Being Alive” from Company. I doubt the writers remember that though lol. I hope Kurt nails it!

Really excited for All that Jazz, after “There are worse things I could do”, I’m convinced Kate Hudson’s voice matches a song like All that Jazz. Can’t wait.

I love it when Glee does Musical numbers! Looking forward to this one :)

  • Elora

I’m so looking forward to more of Kurt’s voice! I love Chris Colfer and we defo haven’t seen enough of him this season. I’m already bored of Cassandra, her scenes make me cringe. I like Rachel’s character and she’s quite an interesting person to watch but she’s already had more songs this season than Tina has all throughout Glee. Point is I don’t think Rachel needs to burst into song every episode.

  • GeekGirl101

Wait, wait, is that All that Jazz from Chicago? Because if Kate Hudson is singing it this might be pretty fabulous.

    SHOWTUNES ON GLEE.
    How I’ve missed you so!

    • Corin Boswell

Agreed! Don’t get me wrong, I like “most” of the Top 40 stuff they’ve done but I really miss the classic showtunes!

i’m excited to hear Chris Colfer singing Being Alive he is a awesome singer and my favorite on glee

  • Marie

I’m nervous about “All That Jazz”, since Chicago is my favorite musical ever, and they kind of sucked when they did “Cell Block Tango”. Hopefully it’ll be contextually better, although I don’t really think Rachel’s got the voice for it.

  • Sylvie

Yayyyyyy Kurt gets a solo again, after, like, ages!! Really, really
excited for Kurt’s audition for NYADA. Chris Colfer really has an
authentic, very unique, divine voice, so beautifully different than the
others! And his personality is so unique and sweet as well!
I think this is his first solo in season 4!!

    Oh
God, why did they do that to him… he’s so talented, like, we need his
voice in very high quality, eternal-non-top40 songs to be done in Glee,
    like, stat!!

I think this episode will explode…! It will be so great, I really look forward to it!
First coz of Kurt’s solo (hope he’ll get into NYADA, be alive Kurt! Get all your dreams, you’re well deserved! ) :))

    Secondly
because “Don’t Dream It’s Over” that will be sung by the other cast, is
my favorite song of all my high school time! (several years ago,
    actually…hehe)
It’s a very beautiful sad song, so I wonder to whom each of the cast will be depicted singing this song to…

  • JCat

Don’t Dream it’s Over better be fucking spectacular because the original is one of the most beautiful songs ever written and one of the most perfect things i’ve ever heard recorded and live and if they mess it up i will be really upset.

Lea tweeted that she’s singing 2 Barbra songs! But every site says only being good isn’t good enough?!
