We’re a few months away from the premiere of American Idol season 12, but the promotional train has begun! Check out a couple of new promo videos that you may catch on TV sometime soon!

It looks like maybe Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey have kept their recent feud (where Nicki was alleged to have threatend Mariah Carey with a gun) at bay to move on with their duties as judges on American Idol.

Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and Mariah Carey will replace judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler this season. Longtime judge Randy Jackson will return as well.

The first video showcases all of the judges, host Ryan Seacrest, and reminds viewers that this show turns “unknowns into superstars.” Check that out below:

The second 30-second promo is a highlight video full of exciting things to come with new judge Nicki Minaj, including a moment where she lets a contestant know she isn’t judging them based on their hair! Check out that promo blow:

Most American Idol fans remember a few months ago when this video of Nicki Minaj having a meltdown on Mariah Carey over judgement of a contestant hit the Internet and went viral shortly thereafter.

What are your thoughts about the promo? Does it make you excited for the 12th season of American Idol?

I can’t wait for the premiere! I love this show and while the verdict is still out concerning how good these new judges are gonna be, I am sure that it will still be entertaining. :)
