Killing time in between shoots for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, lead cast members visited the Georgia Aquarium for some fun with the fish.

The venue’s website shared the following fun photos from Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss), Woody Harrelson (Haymitch), and Elizabeth Banks’ (Effie) recent visit. Our favorite photo is the one of Harrelson holding hands with a dolphin:

Speaking of Catching Fire, the logo for the film was revealed in theaters with The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 over the weekend. It has still not (officially), made its online debut, but we expect it to sometime this week. The tagline for the film, “Every revolution begins with a spark,” was also unveiled.

Other than meeting with underwater creatures, several cast members visited an Atlanta-based Haunted House in October. It looks like there’s lots of fun things to do in Atlanta to kill time between shoots!

The cast and crew of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire have been filming in Atlanta since September. Filming is expected to move to Hawaii in the next few weeks before they call it a wrap. The film opens in theaters November 22, 2013. Unfortunately we have a long wait! The good news is that the three remaining films in the series will arrive each November from 2013 through 2015.

Thanks to Hunger-Games.net for the tip.

The Aquarium is Beautiful. I went after it first opened and it was wonderful. They’ve expanded since then and I’m hope to go back while I’m attending the Born This way Ball in March.

  • d3erudite

This is wrong. Dolphins don’t belong in captivity.

    • Nick

would you prefer them they get hunted down for their fat and sold as meat by poachers?
because that’s what’s happening now to many of the dolphins populations

so unless you can think of a way to stop that from keep on happening dont go all “greenpeace” on the comments

      • matthewhpg

Unrelated question: Does dolphin taste good?

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/Diego-Hernandez/539018211 Diego Hernandez

LMAO!!!! sorry i couldn’t help my self

      • Andrew_ww

First of all: Greenpeace? Its common sense.
Second, “they get hunted down for their fat and sold as meat by poachers” is not true.
This is not a nice picture at all.

        • http://www.facebook.com/mary.russell.549 Mary Russell

Watch the movie, “The Cove”. It is true.

          • Andrew_ww

I’ve watched the Cove 4 times.

            Yes, they get hunted.

It isn’t for their meat or fat. It is to take out the fishing competition.

      • Andie

So, rather than working towards stopping the mass slaughters of cetaceans that regularly take place in the world and educating the public to provide a safer environment for these highly intelligent beings in their NATURAL habitat, the solution is a life in what’s basically the size of a bathtub to a cetacean forcing them to perform circus tricks for OUR “entertainment”?
Captivity is a very profitable business. The Japanese fishermen in Taiji who slaughter mass amounts of dolphins and pilot whales every year are NOT doing it FOR the meat. The consumption of dolphin meat has been steadily declining and is not making the fishermen a profit. What IS making them a profit, however, is the hundreds of thousands of dollars they get for the more aesthetically pleasing dolphins they find. The slaughter and consumption of their pod-mates is strictly a by-product of the search for “suitable specimens” for captivity.

      • Viv

How do you think these dolphin’s got here. They are driven into coves and slaughter yes but the cream of the pods are taken out and sold to the likes of these places. And yes maybe some of these are captive bred, but think about how they started their captive breeding. This same aquarium is trying to get its hands on wild caught Beluga’s. Ignorance is bliss.

      • Luiza

The captivity industry is responsible for dolphins being hunted and slaughtered, not meat. Meat is just “collateral damage”. Watch The Cove and educate yourself.

      • Deb Massey

The same people that do the hunting of dolphins for food are the same people who capture live wild dolphins for the amusement trade. In fact it is this trade in captive animals that finances the fishing for food boats

      • http://www.facebook.com/mary.russell.549 Mary Russell

The same hunters who sell dolphin meat for food, are capturing dolphins for captivity to be used as entertainment. This is all one and the same.

      • http://www.facebook.com/koraljka.polacek Koraljka Polaček

Funny. Those animals are living in the rounded prison their whole life. Ask them if they prefer 1 year of free living or 15 in this prison. You would choose the prison? They are not created to be our toys. They have their home- the Ocean, and they should live there. People who are not blind or cruel don’t support this captivity and fight against it. Captivity kills, read and learn more.

I would prefer mankind to be kind and stop killing and enslaving other life that does us no harm . all life HAS the right to be free

      • Lis

ATM dolphins are hunted down so a couple of them can be sold to dolphinariums while the rest get killed.
Dolphinariums pay the most money in this issue.

    • Corin Boswell

Is this really the place to bring this kind of topic?

      • M

        Agreed

      • http://www.facebook.com/mary.russell.549 Mary Russell

Important world issues always have a purpose in places like this.

  • Jill

Jen looks so cute in that picture, haha. Woody looks like he’s enjoying himself, hah. That’d be so fun to do. I love dolphins.

    • Morgan

Jill, if you really love dolphins please do some research, this is the last thing you would want to do.

  • Crazy-Eight23

I love these guys. They are great actors, and I look forward to the movie. But first I want a trailer, which I bet there will be a teaser once The Host get released .

  • Vajackster

You know, if the cast and crew spent more time and money on production and less fucking around with dolphins, they could probably get the movie out before November. At this rate, everybody’s going to have forgotten about this franchise before they see the sequel.

  • Starkidavpm

HAHAHAHA! I just imagined Woody using that dolphin as a portkey! (AVPM reference btw)

  • @OrcaUK1

The dolphin slaughters in Taiji for example are actually funded by captive display facilities – let me explain: the Taiji fishermen get maybe a few thousand pounds for selling one dolphin as meat. They get hundreds of thousands of pounds when they sell these dolphins to captive display facilities. These fishermen do not sell enough dolphin meat anymore to fund their jobs let alone their lives – they make their money from the sales they make to aquaria who want to put dolphins in shows and interaction programmes. And the sea is not a “big, bad place” – it’s their home.

  • Amber Humphreys

Don’t these people read any news or articles? Dolphins should NOT be in captivity. You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

  • Morgan

People should educate themselves in the reality of how cetaceans end up in abusement parks and exactly what their lives are like once theyre in the ‘goldfish bowls’ that the ‘entertainment’ industry call ‘aquariums’. Constantly stunned by the amount of people who either haven’t got a clue or choose to ignore the brutal, sadistic reality.

  • Mo Brock

At the risk of being accused of “going all Greenpeace” about this issue, please know that the dolphin show is the single-most important CAUSE of dolphins being slaughtered in the world. Strictly economics. Dolphin flesh “on the hoof” is not widely eaten and fetches little money. It is the capture during the same hunt in which the captured dolphins see their families killed that makes the dolphin hunt the lucrative enterprise that it is.

But “going all Greenpeace?” Dude, the 80s are calling. They want their main advocate organization back.

  • @OrcaUK1

Just to note – Woody Harrelson spoke out for the Dolphin Project AGAINST dolphin captivity. He has possibly just let a LOT of people down, including all the other celebrities he is speaking alongside in the “Dolphin Friends” video.

You can watch “Dolphin Friends” video here –> http://vimeo.com/17129452

  • Amber Humphreys

Contact Woody Harrelson’s PR and tell her it is NOT good for him to be a Hypocrite. He did a Dolphin Friends spot, pleading for them NOT to be captive, now he does this PR stunt. Harrelsons PR Kelly Bush ( 001 ) 3238224888 tell her we do not appreciate hypocrisy. Please keep it polite on the phone.

Dolphins do not belong in captivity.

  • Urg

People are fighting body and soul to keep the dolphins where they belong; that is in the oceans. You guys just destroyed this hard work. Sigh

  • Free Dolphins

Woody Harrelson, what are you doing in an aquarium when you promoted freedom for dolphins??????! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uBfafEcqGU

    • marion

I think he make it for many $$$

  • Dee

The irony here is that the film is the hunger games which is about human slaves performing in an arena which ultimately leads to the slaves deaths, the reward for perfoming in the hunger games your family gets fed. Food for thought!

  • d3erudite

To Hypable: You should be ashamed of yourselves. You have ads of Seaworld on your website and share a post about the cast visiting captive dolphins. You should be discouraging this instead of saying “fun with fish”. I strongly encourage you to remove your seaworld ads. I also recommend you watch “the cove’. Please read “Death at Seaworld” or watch the film “Fall from freedom”. It’s on youtube. #tweetfortaiji

  • Diane McNally

Cetacean intelligence rivals or exceeds that of humans. Dolphins are socially bonded. Dolphins in tanks do these tricks so they can eat. Psych 101, operant conditioning. No tricks, no reward for you. Hunger is a great motivator. So get over there and “shake hands” and look like you’re enjoying it.

  • Marineland Sucks

They should all know better – but particularly Woody Harrelson, who is fully aware of the cruel methods used to capture dolphins for captive shows. I actually thought he was a pretty decent, intellectual guy, but it seems he’s as dense as he appeared on Cheers.

  • http://www.facebook.com/gatil.lordganesh GAtil Lord Ganesh

iF YOU VISIT HITLER GRAVE , you will do a better job than this! Visiting SEa Aquariums estimulates the hunting and transmits the wrong idea that this is nice!! Captivity= life sentence in prison!”

  • MissInfo1

Seriously Mr. Harrelson? Of all the people I contact during every dolphin drive hunt, emailing Japanese officials, resorts, swim with dolphin programs and NOAA regarding the recent application to aquire 18 violently caught, wild beluga whales to the Georgia Aquarium…. YOU WOODY, are the last person I thought I would have to contact.
You have let us down. The Voices for the Dolphins. We are disappointed. You have failed the dolphins.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1399820059 Lisa Johnson Sanders

Captivity is the main reason for the drive hunts in Taiji, Japan. Every time you buy a ticket for one of these shows, you sentence thousands to a cruel, painful death. Love dolphins? See them in the wild.

  • http://www.facebook.com/chick.a.dee.dee.dee Deb Ellison

I’m not impressed at all..this is so wrong and for high profile people to pose with captive animals is NOT helping the cause to improve life on this planet for them. Smarten up Hollywood..with your fame comes responsibility, use it wisely.

  • Kathy

How shocking to see Woody Harrelson here after his Cove PSA. Just a Hollywood fake, I guess.

  • http://www.facebook.com/heidi.kuitert Heidi Kuitert

Woodie Harrelspon why are you doeing this after performing in
    http://youtu.be/4uBfafEcqGU. I don’t understand this at all

  • Fin it

Did woody recently hit his head?.. Vegans don’t exploit animals.

  • http://www.facebook.com/amy.scott.161 Amy Scott

this is gross. they shouldnt be advocating marine mammals in captivity. I will wait to see the film for free rather than putting money in their pockets.

  • http://www.facebook.com/pslabaugh Paul Slabaugh

SeaWorld’s ‘copy cat’ dolphinarium abusement parks .. are just that. Copy cats of profitable ventures that make ‘Disney-esque’ musical fantasyland enclosures for captive dolphins that will never again enjoy the wild freedom they are so highly evolved for. Disney himself would roll over in his grave to witness this, as he promoted the use of mechanized ‘animatrons’ to entertain the gore seeker. Every aquarium engaging in this cruelty enterprise encourages every other. In mass, they are directly responsible for the deadly drive hunts in Taiji and elsewhere, who supply the necessary ‘new blood’ for this industry. By encouraging it with your tourist dollar or short sighted comments (Nick) … you nourish and grow these death sentence concentration camps. The roman arena of slave entertainment was outlawed long ago. Many don’t understand dolphin communications, so man has recently created this dark period of ‘abusement’, which will end up in the history books. It will not be long before everyone ‘gets it’. Read ‘Death at Sea World’ and watch ‘A Fall from Freedom’, ‘The Cove’, and others in the making.

Wow!!! I am so sorry to see this photo, not long ago Woody Harrelson was telling the world about the wrongs of captivity!!! He is a hypocrite!!
    Captivity kills!!
    Dolphins belong in the Ocean.

  • AnimuX

    Dear Hollywood celebrities,

Please stop promoting businesses that effectively imprison and abuse animals for no reason other than a profitable spectacle.

And by the way, the Georgia Aquarium is attempting to import wild-caught belugas from foreign countries like Russia that don’t have the laws regarding treatment and harm to the whales that we have in the USA — thus circumventing a decades old ban on wild capture due to the sheer number of dead animals as a result of previous captures in U.S. waters.

  • http://www.facebook.com/mario.gandolfo Mario Gandolfo

Maybe you should show Woody the horrors these Dolphins have to suffer through when captured by the filthy Japanese fisherman..how some of the Dolphins hurl themselves against rocks when the nets close in how the dolphin mothers scream and cry as their baby’s are pulled out of the water in front of them only to become a spectacle raised in a small tank in captivity for human enjoyment.https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=142793589204213&set=a.142793319204240.33566.109164785900427&type=1&relevant_count=4

My, MY, woody, I looked up to you at one time for speaking out for the world, and now I see this?? Your hands on a captive dolphin? What the heck, watch the Cove, go to Taijii, watch the many films of this very sick industry.. shame shame

  • Deb Massey

Are you aware that dolphins are slaughtered daily to obtain just a few for captivity. It is not cool or fashionable to visit one of these places…by doing so you are financing and supporting the deaths of 17 dolphins for everyone that is captured. And don’t be fooled by the “captive bred tag” either. Dolphins need to swim for 70-100 kilometers a day to keep healthy…..imagine how many laps is that around a small concrete pool.????

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1399820059 Lisa Johnson Sanders

I thought Woody was an advocate against the Taiji dolphin drives and yet, here he is. Don’t know the connection between captive dolphins and drive hunts? Watch “The Cove”.

  • http://www.facebook.com/mary.russell.549 Mary Russell

Next time a “celebrity” puts their stamp on a cause, look deeper into their pockets. Mariel Hemingway is paid to speak out against hydraulic fracturing while the rest of us do it because it’s what we believe in.

  • http://www.facebook.com/koraljka.polacek Koraljka Polaček

Slaughtering and capturing go hand in hand. But I thought at least Woody Harrelson has some brain. It is very sad ”greet” captured animals. Even my child see it is wrong. If you visit and promote captured animals, you are supporting ongoing killing and capturing of wild animals.

  • http://www.facebook.com/koraljka.polacek Koraljka Polaček

Woody Harrelson of all people who starred in The Cove PSA? I have no respect for a hypocrite.
