Merlin 5×07 “A Lesson in Vengeance” just finished airing! Tell us what you thought of the episode and see a promo for next week’s “The Hollow Queen.”

Are you surprised by the way Guinevere’s storyline is developing this season? We’re glad that Arthur didn’t die, but what will Morgana do next? And how about Gwen?

The promo for next week’s episode might give us some clues:

The episode description for “The Hollow Queen” reads:

When Merlin agrees to help a young Druid boy, he has no choice but to leave Camelot on a dangerous mission.

And with the citadel distracted by the visit of the fearsome Sarrum of Amata, it seems that no one will notice his absence.

But as the sky darkens, so do Merlin’s suspicions – is there more to Daegal than meets the eye? And can a man as ruthless as the Sarrum ever really be trusted? Too late, the young warlock realises he’s made a terrible mistake.

You can also see a promotional still released of Sarrum, played by John Shrapnel, and read the episode descriptions for 5×09 and 5×10.

Hypable’s Merlin podcast Talks of Camelot will be recording a reaction show for this week’s episode tomorrow, so if you want to get your feedback in, leave that here in this post! You can also listen to the discussion for last week’s episode “The Dark Tower.”

Merlin 5×08 “The Hollow Queen” airs next Saturday at 20:00 GMT on BBC One.

What did you think about tonight’s episode?!

Morgana keeps failing miserably … She needs some to attend “Super Villain 101″ or something like that.

I totally agree. She has tried to usurp the throne since Season 3 and she has only succeeded 3 times and every time it’s for no more than a couple of weeks. How sad. She should really give up and live a better life as a healer or something.

RIP Samwell Tarly, who died this day in another universe, alone and betrayed by some random queen.

i know right. I feel bad for his mother. Arthur should give her some kind of compensation, although no compensation would be enough for the death of her son.

I realise Guinevere is under Morgana’s control, but I can’t help but be upset with her! First she kills poor Tyr then she frames Merlin. I kind of like Evil Guinevere but I’m looking forward to getting our old Queen back.

I still don’t understand how EXACTLY this “under Morgana’s control” business works. She’s still Gwen, she’s just, like, Dark!Gwen. It’s weird.

She tortured Gwen and made it so the pain only went away when she was around. It’s not magic controlling her, just extremely effed up stockholm syndrome-esque manipulation.

I hope than Guinevere actually is under Morgana’s control, and that hopefully the producers will show bits where good Gwen’s trying to fight back at herself like in Lancelot Du Lac.

After the podcast last week when you guys were joking about how Merlin would have to give Arthur the kiss of life, It got my hopes up so much more after he’d climbed up the wall ‘Romeo and Juliet’ style and was there at his bedside as Arthur looked so peaceful like a sleeping beauty or something XD (That said, what happened to the ‘slow painful death’ part of the poison? Arthur was very close to death yes, but he didn’t look like he was in agony :S Maybe it was internal pain?). Anyways can’t wait for the next show guys, I loved the episode and the podcast is always great :D

So much merthur in this episode I couldn’t handle it :) when Merlin was crying over Arthur it broke my heart and I must admit I was chanting die die die at the end to gwen when they were chanting long live the queen… do you think gwen will go back to normal? Or is this it for her?

Okay so first off I was happy that I didn’t have any shock/scare thrown at me this week :) I LOVED old Emrys in this and I just couldn’t stop laughing. I was so upset for Merlin when he thought his magic had failed and Arthur was still going to die…seeing him cry was heartbreaking and showed how much he cares for Arthur and his mission in protecting him. Finally I loved the fact that Merlin just stared down Gwen when everyone was chanting “long like the queen”, and I do believe she knows he’s on to her! Every episode is just better and better in my opinion and can’t wait for next weeks as it will be more of Merlin on his own with the druid boy.

Oh and the podcast is AMAZING! I never miss an episode.

The thing I don’t get is that Morgana drove Guinevere insane, then killed her brother right in front of her, and suddenly Guinevere is entirely on Morgana’s side, even killing for her? Will she ever get back to herself, or will it take the end of the season and the entire next season for Arthur to realize her betrayal?

And one more thing: When will Morgana realize that for all these years and after all those attempts on Arthur’s life or for his crown, he has survived, and that Merlin has ALWAYS been there? Will Merlin get a love interest? Will Merlin and Arthur finally realize that they are both in love with each other ;)

Poor Arthur. I feel really really sorry for him. I swear that he is always being betrayed by everyone he cares for. I hope that Gwen snaps back into her old self again later on, but not next episode- I want this storyline to last!
