PBS has released new videos of the cast of Downton Abbey looking back on season 2 and discussing what is to come in season 3. Minor spoilers ahead.

The hit British drama Downton Abbey will premiere its third season on Jan. 6 on PBS Masterpiece. Until then, PBS has put together a few preview clips for American fans hungry for more of the Crawley family and their unflagging staff.

The first of these clips features Hugh Bonneville (Robert Crawley), Elizabeth McGovern (Cora), and Michelle Dockery (Mary) discussing the changes undergone by their characters (and the world they live in) during season 2. The preview also includes a few short clips from season 3, focusing particularly on Shirley MacLaine, who will portray Cora’s American mother and is sure to make waves in the Crawley’s deeply English attitudes.

In the second clip, Michelle Dockery discusses the evolution of her character through the lens of her resistance-to-romance relationship with cousin Matthew.

American fans can expect a stronger taste of Downton‘s future on Nov. 25, when PBS will air “Downton Abbey Revisted,” a 90-minute clip show hosted by Angela Lansbury. In addition to refreshing viewers on the events of seasons 1 and 2, the episode will feature interviews with the cast and crew of Downton Abbey, as well as behind-the-scenes footage. I believe this falls under the category of, “Ask us no questions and we’ll tell you no lies.” ;-)

    • WillowBlood

Yes, because I want to watch it when it really airs in America and not via the computer, even though it kills me.

      • B.

Same here. Which is why I’m also waiting for Merlin to air here next year, too. I can’t stand the suspense, but I’d rather see it on TV.

    • kfaye

Yes but not by choice. Haha I don’t have time during semester, but hopefully over break I can catch up.

I love their insight on their characters. Christmas special needs to come NOW.
