A new Game of Thrones poster features the premiere date of season 3, embossed and ominous just the way we like it.

While it is known, and has been known for a while actually, that Game of Thrones will return on March 31 2013, this is technically the first official poster for season 3 released by HBO:

Game of Thrones season 3 poster
Season 3 has been filming in Croatia, Iceland and Northern Ireland for months now, and the Game of Thrones production blog has been keeping us updated with a few different interviews with crew members and production snippets.

We have also been posting some behind-the-scenes images released by a cast member on Twitter, which shows two of the new characters (Daario and Missandei) with Daenerys, teasing her part of the story.

And if you’re looking for more interesting content from the cast, you should definitely listen to Hypable’s Game of Owns podcast, where we have recently posted an interview with Game of Thrones actor Kristian Nairn, who of course plays Hodor. Check out part 1, part 2 and part 3 of the interview and let us know what you think!

What are your thoughts on this first teaser poster for season 3? March 31 is still a long way away, but luckily there’s always the books to keep us busy!

that poster needs a picture, not just a date and the roman numeral for three!

I like the swords though. Cause it’s III but it’s also A Storm of Swords!
