Once Upon a Time just finished airing, and “Child of the Moon” gave us a new piece of Ruby’s backstory! What did you think?

In tonight’s episode of Once Upon a Time, Ruby took center stage as her wolf form took over, and Storybrooke turned against her because of King George’s manipulation.

Meanwhile, flashbacks showed Ruby being tempted by a wolf pack, while she and Snow were on the run.

Next week’s episode is entitled “Into the Deep,” and we’ll see just exactly how the Storybrooke residents will use the connection to fairytale land to contact each other!

The episode description reads:

Cora does everything in her power to steal the compass away from Mary Margaret and Emma in her quest to find the entrance to Storybrooke. Meanwhile, in order to protect Henry from further danger, Regina and Mr. Gold must put David’s life in jeopardy in an attempt to put him in contact with Mary Margaret across the lands to give her vital information that could help her and Emma return through the portal back to Storybrooke.

Once Upon a Time 2×08 “Into the Deep” airs Sunday, November 25 at 8/7c on ABC!

    Where’s the promo?

    • http://www.facebook.com/erikd1 Erik Davison

      there it is :)

  • Lucy

That was an AMAZING episode.. Seriously, they did it again! They gave just enough from each part to create this perfect package. I wanted to laugh, cry, kill and love throughout this entire episode.. It should have been longer than an hour. When David broke down at the very end at the thought of losing his daughter and wife, I felt so bad for him because he lost his only way that he knows of currently until he finds out about Henry. Why do I have to wait two weeks for this next episode- that’s too long! My only complaint is that I want August back! Maybe when Neal comes to town he’ll return- that’s my feeling at least.

  • Lucy

Excellent episode! Each episode is getting better and better! I felt so bad for Ruby when she decided that all she could do was die, and then David lost the hat and he has no idea that Henry can communicate with the other side, so he feels that everything is lost. It’s just so incredibly sad. But then parts were funny and happy and just so good. And then the promo! The promo! Could they have made it any more exciting?! And then they told us we would have to wait two weeks.. AMA’s are ruining my OUAT watching.. Sad day. I still want August though! I miss him!

Slightly disappointed by how rushed Red’s storyline was, but overall it was a nice episode!

  • http://twitter.com/notenoughpuff Sarah

Ruby is amongst my favorite characters and it was nice to see more of her. I was so excited that we were getting a Gus Gus but then he died so no more Gus Gus. I had a slight problem with some of the wording of the dialogue between Red and her mom, but let’s not be nit picky.

Seeing Rumplestiltskin and Henry interact makes me incredibly happy, and the fact he was willing to help him free of charge made me ecstatic. I’m tempted to say that it feels like Belle is changing him in all the right ways, and in some ways I suppose that is true, but I also feel like he wouldn’t have charged Henry either way because he IS just a boy, not unlike his own.

I do have two questions though. 1) Why didn’t they just put Ruby underneath the library where it held a DRAGON for 28 years? 2) The hat Jefferson had wasn’t the one Emma made him, was it? Because they got it from Regina and not from Jefferson. So theoretically, there’s still another hat out there that we KNOW works because it saved Jefferson from dying when he went though the window of his house. (And we heard the wooshing and popping noises that made it seem like that was what had happened.)

I can’t believe we have to wait 2 more weeks! I don’t know what I’m going to do with myself until then!

  • Alice

This promo makes me want to ship Aurora/Henry, but in like an older sister/younger brother sort of way . . . . since I don’t know how old she is . . .

    • http://www.facebook.com/erikd1 Erik Davison

She’s sixteen. Aurora’s curse was inflicted “before the sun sets on her sixteenth birthday.” Though technically I think she’s been sleeping for like, 100 years or something…

      • Anne

Its said in Season two eposide 1, that the only land was frozen for a year until Emma/Snow arrive

      • http://hypable.com Selina

In the show too, or just in the fairytale? Because I don’t know if they’d have cast Sarah Bolger if they were going to make the character 16!?

        • Alice

That’s what I was thinking. I mean, they took liberties with the other fairy tales, why not this one and with the age of Aurora. And when she was in sleep, would it be possible for her to keep aging while she’s sleeping? So she could have pricked her finger at 16, but time could have passed until the curse was cast (i.e. Phillip’s and Mulan’s Great Adventures) , then the 28 years in frozen time, then the one year that Emma was in Storybrooke time could have restarted time in the Enchanted Forest. So . . . how old is Aurora in present time? In any case, I can’t wait for more Aurora/Henry interaction.

hmmm, could be possible considering Rumbelle

I absolutely loved this episode. If someone asked me which episode from season two was my favorite, I wouldn’t be able to decide! Ruby’s storyline was great, and it was great learning that she could control the wolf. I almost lost it when Charming thought he would never be able to see Emma and Snow again. I have my theories about what is going to happen two weeks from now (Two weeks? Seriously? With a promo like that, I need the episode NOW), and none of them are nice. I am so beyond excited, and I really really really hope Charming’s life is going to turn out okay. Can’t have him dying now!

It’s actually TWO weeks until the new episode, which kind of bugged the crap out of me :(

  • Riku

I’m really excited for the new episode in two weeks, and I’m glad that they didn’t leave us hanging too long with the dream thing.

  • sammylovegood

    Magical hat dust??

    • Lucy

Don’t think so. The hat is not magical in and of itself- which is why they needed the fairy dust in the first place. The hat needs magic given to it before it will work. Therefore I don’t think it will work like the magical wardrobe ash.

I lost track of how many times this episode made me tear up. I keep expecting it to lose momentum, but it’s just so great!

  • http://www.facebook.com/brianna.goins.3 Brianna Nicole Goins

Between Regina being so concerned for Henry and Rumple being so kind with the whole necklace thing…I’m kind of loving seeing the “bad guys” so…good. Also, Henry’s line from the promo: “I’m tired of reading about heroes. I’m ready to be one” added another tear to tonight’s total.

    RIP Gus Gus!

  • http://twitter.com/StarkidSims Simone

    1) KING GEORGE IS THE BIGGEST ASSHOLE I HAVE EVER SEEN. I know fairytales are about morality but just once I want a good guy to take the low road and kill a villain. All Charming did was not go through with a wedding get the f over it George.

    2) Seriously? The gang in fairytale land STILL haven’t changed their clothes. I can’t get over this, good lord they must be stinking. I love how their hair is magically perfect and their faces dirt free though. Do they take river washes?

    3) I LOVE Ruby’s clothes. Also wow her family are prejudiced. Other than that I loved her storyline, badass Granny and the Belle/Ruby, Snow/Ruby and Charming/Ruby friendship moments.

    4) Hmmm… Seems like Rumple either has a soft spot for kids (having lost Bae) or he needs Henry for something, maybe to get Emma back so he can call in his favour? As Regina said nothing comes free with him so there’s a big chance it’s all part of his new plan.

    5) I’m really like the dream sequences, that room is so beautifully shot! Really looking forward to seeing more of it next episode. I love that it gives both Aurora and Henry and chance to prove themselves too. Why do I have a feeling Henry is going to end up with some serious power by the time the series is over.

    6) Ummm you know there is still the hat ashes… Or the hat Emma made… Or maybe have even a slight bit of faith in their loved ones to find a way back for themselves on the other side? Give up a bit quick much? I wonder if Regina knows that the magic of an object still exists if ashes remain?

Also – Regina, Henry and Gold? YES THAT WAS GOOD. ANOTHER.

  • http://twitter.com/SarahKHansen S.K.Hansen

They killed off Gus Gus!?!? I won’t be able to watch Cinderella again with out thinking about King George chopping him in half.

    • http://www.facebook.com/Froglover16 Lyndsey Salisbury

I KNOW! I didn’t even realize it was him till I had finished the episode and was cruising the OUAT wiki and they mentioned it! My mom was so confused when I came into her room upset…..

  • http://www.facebook.com/erikd1 Erik Davison

I’m certainly not complaining, cuz I loved the episode, but isn’t it funny that they sort of set up this season’s flashbacks to be about snow and charming taking back the kingdom, and they’ve only done it in one out of 7 episodes so far?

    • http://twitter.com/NatashaPeartree Natasha Pereira

i was thinking about this also, but i really like the idea of the present coinciding with the past, so i hope they do something show Snow and Charming’s fantasyland takeback in the same episode they are finally reunited! That would obviously be end-of-season or just-before-hiatus type stuff.

  • http://www.facebook.com/michael.gassmann.7 Michael Gassmann

Excellent Episode! I loved every minute of it! I was so worried about Red. I feel so bad for her, her mother made her chose. But she wanted to be accepted as both and the only person to ever do that was Snow. That made me sooo happy and it was such an amazing episode. :) But then as the episode was drawing near the end and how rumple gave henry the necklace I had a feeling that It would help henry and Aurora talk to each other finally. :D The Promo had me at the edge of my seat lol!

  • Elphaba Thropp

    *watching promo*
“Okay, okay, this is looking good…”
    *Two weeks from today…*
    “TWO WEEKS??????!?!!?!?!?!”

  • http://twitter.com/NatashaPeartree Natasha Pereira

I was getting lots of TrueBlood shape-shifting vibes during the wolf and wolf den scenes

  • frezb

we have to wait two weeks? noooooooo. Did that scene with David looked like he was in a hall of mirrors?

  • HarryHungerAvatar12

Oh my Red!!! That was such an amazing episode ever! I’m going to keep saying this until the series ends probably! But anyway Ruby is my second favorite character and I totally love her. Love the thought of Red Riding Hood being the Wolf. I felt sad for her when she killed her mother. But her mother and granny forced her to choose one. I totally ship Snow/Ruby, Belle/Ruby, and Charming/Ruby relationships. Love how Aurora and Henry made a connection. Since they both were in sleeping curses. I wonder if Aurora wasn’t there it would have been Snow/Mary who made the connection because she probably was the next current person who been through the sleeping curse.I totally hated King George and he through the hat in the fire! I wonder what Mad Hatter would feel, where is he still. STILL WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPEN TO AUGUST/PINOCCHIO. And what about Henry’s father, will he be going to Storybrooke now that the curse is broken. Let’s figure out in TWO WEEKS …sniff…. sniff…

  • K8_8K

    “You have wolf hearing?”
Granny: “It’s not all it’s cracked up to be…especially when running an inn.”

    I love Granny!

  • http://twitter.com/StarkidSims Simone

To all those that think the two week wait sucks (which it really does but that’s beside the point) try coming from the Glee fandom, where 4-7 week hiatus’ aren’t uncommon

  • Chicken

Although I felt like Ruby’s storyline in Storybrook was a bit of a rehash, I loved learning about the wolf pack and everything else.

  • Blackkiko

Called it!! Right away when henry had the same dream I was like “I bet sleeping beauty is in the room, and they are going to communicate”

    • charlton

I give you “Props” for calling that,I knew that someone had.

  • http://www.facebook.com/katie.c.lantz Katie Christine Lantz

I’m wondering if the head of the wolf pack (Anita, I think?) was really Red’s mother, or if she just said that to get another wolf in the pack. It seems very animalistic and fitting with her characterization, though I don’t know if it’s just me being a crazy conspiracy theorist or if my idea might actually be plausible.

  • charlton

I loved the show,Red’s family was kind of cool except for Mom.
    KING GEORGE was an ASS.

  • Alice

Is it just me or did the pack’s den look similar to the stronghold from “Lady of the Lake”?
