Warner Bros. today announced Harry Potter Complete Collector’s Edition – a scaled down version of Harry Potter Wizard’s Collection – for several international countries that did not get the bigger box set.

Complete Collector’s Edition will be available Czech Republic, Hong Kong, Hungary, Korea, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, and the Gulf States (Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman) on November 21, 2012. A price has not yet been revealed, but you can see photos of the set below. It includes the 8-part documentary Creating the World of Harry Potter, which is already available on the Ultimate Editions and Wizard’s Collection.

Harry Potter Complete Box Set - Collector's Edition

Harry Potter Complete Box Set

In August Warner Bros. said that a “less robust, more cost-effective” box set will be available once Harry Potter Wizard’s Collection runs out of its limited edition quantity. We suspect that Complete Collector’s Edition is the version that they’re talking about and will hit United States, United Kingdom, and Australian stores in the coming months (amongst other countries). Please keep in mind that this is not official – we are just speculating about its domestic availability. This particular set may never reach U.S., U.K., and Australian stores.

Will you buy this new Harry Potter box set when it’s available in your country? These sets are obviously great purchases for those who don’t have any of the Harry Potter films on DVD or Blu-ray, but we imagine that the majority of fans who would want them have already purchased the individual films over the years.

Thanks, Snitch Seeker.

depends on the price but “cos effective” sounds a little encouraging so we’ll see :)

the ultimate editions? wizards collection? the other dvd and blu ray boxsets? now collectors edition!? just p*** off warner brothers!

    • BritishHobo

Did you read the article? This is the Wizard’s Collection without the box and the props. It’s the Ultimate Editions collected together.

  • daff

it will probobly be mega expensive, the only allure for me is the mini posters from each film, i already own all 8 Blu Rays and I have managed to get dvd rips of the documentary, Warner brothers are just greedys ass *****

  • RussellTurner

Im glad i just bought All 8 on bluray UK version -_-

There’s nothing wrong with this release. If you don’t need the movies, don’t buy them, but let WB do their thing. Just because there’s a box of Cheerios in your cupboard doesn’t mean the grocery store is a jerk for trying to sell cereal. They’re in this to make money.
And for those who don’t already own everything on blu-ray, this is probably going to be a more affordable option. Where’s the harm? Nobody’s holding anyone at gunpoint forcing them to buy it.

Thanks for saying this, Kate. I agree with you. I understand from fans that it’s confusing that there are a lot of box-set options for a huge amount of money, but I don’t agree with the harsh reaction to this. Just because a business wants to keep selling something that makes them money doesn’t make it a bad business. Also, just because there’s a new set coming out, that doesn’t mean you have to buy it. Save your money. I haven’t bought ANY of the box sets, even though I own all the movies separately. I knew there would be box sets out after the final film, but there still isn’t one that appeals to me.

I completely agree. I bought the movies on DVD as they came out, but when I got a blu-ray player, I held off on buying blu-rays because I knew a big set would eventually be released and I figured I’d upgrade when that happened. I ended up splurging on the Wizard’s Collection when I saw that Amazon Canada had it for $300 and I don’t regret it one bit! But the important part is, nobody made me buy the DVDs. I did that because I wanted to own the movies. And then after I owned them all on DVD, nobody forced me to buy a set of the films on blu-ray. Again, I did that because I wanted to, and I for one, am glad I now have a nice cohesive set that I can admire and enjoy.

I’ve heard the Wizard’s collection is missing some behind-the-scenes stuff that was on other DVDs. Does it seem to matter much to you? I thought about buying that one, but the cost is a bit high for me right now. Some of the other extras seemed really cool.

          • http://www.katepawsonstuder.com/ Kate Pawson Studer

I haven’t noticed anything missing myself, of course I still have my DVDs as well, though I did say I’d give them to my mom :)

It’s hard to say whether or not it’s worth the cost. For me, it was and I’m very happy I have it. But for others, maybe not. It depends on how much you value the little extras it comes with, aside from the content on the discs.

          • B.

Cool. Thanks for your reply! The Wizard’s Collection was the one that I thought the most about buying.

            Happy to help!

“Just because there’s a box of Cheerios in your cupboard doesn’t mean the grocery store is a jerk for trying to sell cereal” You made my day

I would buy a collectors set of Ultimate editions, but that’s all in terms of re-releases.

    Horrible design.

  • jozefd14

DVD? is there non Blu-ray version?

  • frezb

I’m sorry to have to ask a stupid question but is this set going to be DVD or Blu-ray? I would probably get this if it’s DVD coz I don’t have a Blu-ray player. I’ve been waiting for a box set to come out to get all my movies but I really couldn’t afford the wizard’s collection. Hopefully this would be more in my price range.

  • JayFerrar

We STILL don’t have all the deleted scenes or bloopers. COME ON, WB! We know you have them! Just throw them on the discs, and I’m sold!

  • Alex

    I’m confused.
other than this being available for those outside the US; and not having all that limited edition special memorabilia (the locket, the map, etc)
what’s the difference with This One? does it have more BTS? more interviews? bloopers?

or is it the Same as the wizard collection- save the real High price and physical goodies?

    • BritishHobo

      Yeah, the Wizard’s Collection thing.

  • PotterFan1029

On a related note, has anyone seen the Wizards Collection in stores anywhere? I have been looking everywhere I go and no one has it…???

  • Kate

I’m so glad they are doing this! I waited all this time to buy the movies as a collection, and now I can in a way that’s cheaper than the wizarding collection.
