See the promo for the How I Met Your Mother episode “Splitsville,” as well as the promotional stills released for the following week’s “The Stamp Tramp.”

In last Monday’s episode of How I Met Your Mother, “The Autumn of Break-Ups,” Ted and Victoria was the couple which got the axe. And in next Monday’s “Splitsville,” it looks like Robin and Nick are done too – at least if the promo is to be believed:

The episode description for “Splitsville” reads:

When Robin is hesitant to break up with Nick, Barney takes matters into his own hands. Meanwhile, Lily and Marshall are desperate for some private time.

Further, CBS has released the set of promotional images (featured on SpoilerTV) for the following week’s “The Stamp Tramp,” in which True Blood‘s, Joe Manganiello returns as Brad – though as the images show, he’s looking a lot less put together than usual!

We learn the reason for this in the episode description:

Marshall recommends his old law school classmate Brad for a job at his firm, but the interview goes awry, leaving Marshall to do damage control with his boss. Meanwhile, Robin helps negotiate Barney’s return to the strip club circuit.

How I Met Your Mother returns Monday at 8/7c on CBS with “Splitsville.”

I am a huge fan of HIMYM and the Barney/Robin pairing <3 but I feel like they're breaking up Robin and Nick just so they can start up that plot-line again. I don't remember him being that stupid the past few episodes and it feels like they're just creating something to break them up. Ted and Victoria's I could understand, but this just feels forced.

    Anyone agree?

Totally! After watching the promo, I thought – wow, Nick has had a different personality in literally every episode, he`s been in so far… From the whiny feminine guy, to one of the more normal characters in last weeks episode (apart from his stupid cooking show), and now he`s supposed to be totally dumb ?! I don`t get why they make these characters so cartoonish, it`s so weird … They could have established some more realistic tension/problem within the couple to explain, why it doesn`t last, or maybe go into how Robin may have still feelings for Barney and thats why she can`t stay with Nick…. Why do they screw up characters so much these days ?!?! Sad. Also, Ted and Victorias break-up seemed just as forced to me.
