Newly released sneak peeks for Grey’s Anatomy 9×05 “Beautiful Doom” give a look at how Meredith and Cristina are dealing with their new lives. We’ll give you a hint: they’re miserable!

As Meredith tries desperately to save a victim of a car accident, she preps her interns on the case. The woman who was crushed by a car needs another surgery but isn’t stable enough to go under the knife. Meredith tells the interns until she is ready they have to try and keep her alive. That isn’t the only problem; Zola has a fever and can’t go into daycare. Callie was watching her but unfortunately now has a surgery she must perform. This all happens just before the patient starts to crash and Meredith desperately hands off her daughter to one of the interns to watch.

Back at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, Cristina and Dr. Thomas prepare for a complicated heart surgery. Dr. Parker isn’t too happy with the pair. He tells Cristina he wants to re-assign the case to another surgeon. When Cristina says no, Dr. Parker chastises her saying there is nothing to gain from working with Dr. Thomas. “There is, actually,” she simply quips back.

Naturally, in the Cristina and Meredith-centric episode, fans will get to see them interact, though sadly it’s still only over the phone. Meredith complains about potty training, and Cristina makes it clear she isn’t fond of the Minnesota cold. It is comforting to see the dark-and-twisty twins make fun of each other.

What would you like to see in the Meredith and Cristina-centric episode?

Actually the show stills makes a ton of money, it’s only second to Modern Family on the network. The only way the show would probably end after the stars two year contract is if they decided not to sign up again.
