Hypable’s BattleShips: Game of Thrones VS Sherlock

Possibly one of the most intense battles we’ve seen so far, it’s time to choose whether you prefer Arya & Gendry from Game of Thrones or Sherlock & Watson from Sherlock as your preferred OTP!

What’s going on?

Over the past month and continuing for another three weeks is Hypable’s BattleShips, a tournament where we pit fandom against fandom to see which relationship on television has the most support. It’s all about the chemistry between two characters and the love you have for them, so rally your friends to help support your One True Pairing (OTP)!

This pairing in the first round is just really unfortunate. GoT has a huge following and would do really well in this contest if it weren’t matched up initially against Sherlock.

  It was randomized, but I’m seeing quite the fight from GoT fans so that’s what’ll make this so interesting. You can never really count a fandom out just because you think they’ll lose!
  
  Plus, I’m glad it turned out like this than Sherlock against Avatar or HIMYM. It’s way, way more interesting.

Some fandoms just don’t stand a chance… which is too bad because they really do have a great following, it’s just that the other fandom has a crazier one. Arya and Gendry are putting up a good fight though!

GOT does not really present a solid ‘Ship’ because of RR Martin’s geographic separation of the main characters.

  It’s based entirely on the television show. Though I ship Arya/Gendry more in the books than the show because the age difference in the books is only about 4 years…When I ship Arya/Gendry on the show it is entirely as best buddies, partners in crime.

I’m confused by this whole battle thing. Shouldn’t the couples in all of these contests be actually canon instead of ships that people want to be? Like Sterek and Destiel are not canon but are still in the running. Can someone explain to me the rules of how the couples were chosen because I’m confused? Was it limited to strictly canon and if so how did all of this fanon ships get in?

  All the pairings on here were voted on before the contest started. They had preliminary rounds for each of the fandoms, and the winners of those were put on here. It has nothing to do with “canon”.
