The Vampire Diaries is introducing the local college in next Thursday’s “The Five”! See a sneak peek from the episode now.

In the clip, Elena, Bonnie and Damon are visiting the local college, and Elena says that she doesn’t believe college is in her future anymore. But Damon reveals that he’s been to college “plenty of times,” and if he can do it, Elena can too.

This will also be the episode where we’ll flash back to the 12th century to learn more about Klaus, Rebekah and Elijah’s past. We’ll find out that they have a surprising connection to Connor’s cult, and we will also see a surprising new side of Rebekah which will set her up for the rest of the season.

The episode description for “The Five” reads:

A FRAT PARTY AND A FLASHBACK TO 12TH CENTURY ITALY — Damon (Ian Somerhalder) goes with Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) to visit Whitmore College, where Professor Shane (guest star David Alpay, “The Borgias”) is taking over the Occult Studies classes formerly taught by Bonnie’s grandmother. At a fraternity costume party, Damon takes advantage of the wild scene to give Elena a lesson in choosing a victim. Rebekah’s (Claire Holt) attempt to buy Matt’s (Zach Roerig) forgiveness falls flat, but she is intrigued by unexpected news from Klaus (Joseph Morgan). When Stefan (Paul Wesley) questions Klaus about Connor’s (guest star Todd Williams) motives, Klaus reveals a long-ago encounter with a powerful group of vampire hunters, but it’s Rebekah who delivers the information that stuns Stefan.

As we saw in the promo, Elena will finally let her inhibitions go at the frat party and give in to what Damon has been telling her all along: that she needs to drink human blood. That should be interesting!

The Vampire Diaries 4×04 “The Five” airs Thursday at 8/7c on The CW.

Let’s park in the middle of the quad and walk around, because this is totally a real parking spot! I really enjoy TVD, but it’s these little things that break the fourth wall for me. Regardless, I’m happy that they are developing the character plots and not just the current big bad storyline.
