The Vampire Diaries is back tonight, and now you can read what Claire Holt and Phoebe Tonkin can tease about their characters’ storylines!
In tonight’s episode “The Rager,” Phoebe Tonkin will make her debut as Hayley. E! Online reveals that when we first meet the werewolf, she will have been hiding out in Tyler’s house without Caroline’s knowledge – something which may make the vampire turn towards Klaus.
While Tonkin has previously stated that Hayley’s intention isn’t to come between Tyler and Caroline, she tells TV Line that she is nonetheless, “A little bit of a threat to that relationship because she has a history with Tyler. She knew Tyler during a very emotional time [when] he was breaking his sire bond.”
This is what will cause Caroline to feel “a little threatened” by Hayley, though Tyler doesn’t see why – “she’s a good friend of his, so he’s just excited to see [her],” Tonkin explains.
She also teases that her character has, “a secret, and she’s trying to find out something very important to her that we’re going to [discover] eventually.”
Coming on The Vampire Diaries, Tonkin is of course reuniting with her fellow Australian and former co-star of H2O: Just Add Water, Claire Holt. While she and Tonkin won’t share any scenes, Holt is still very excited to once again be working on the same show. She shares her excitement with Screen Spy, saying, “Phoebe! My best friend! When I found out she was coming on the show I don’t think I squealed more loudly in my life. I’d love to see them become allies.”
She also talks about the big Rebekah flashback episode “The Five,” which airs next Thursday. “It’s huge! What Rebekah reveals is actually really important to the direction and future of the season ahead, and the series too,” she revelas. “It’s definitely going to change the way they all operate and think. It’s definitely a game changer … but I can’t reveal more.”
Holt also talks about Rebekah’s changing relationship with Klaus, saying, “Rebekah’s always been there for her brother. So she felt incredibly betrayed by him and it’s definitely going to impact their relationship throughout the season.”
The Vampire Diaries 4×03 “The Rager” airs tonight at 8/7c on The CW!
