The Voice will air five hours of live performances over three nights during election week.

Although The Voice will not air on election night – Tuesday, Nov. 6 – it will broadcast its first live shows of the season Nov. 5, 7 and 8, according to The Hollywood Reporter. With two hours each Nov. 5 and 7 and one hour on Nov. 8, that’s five hours of The Voice in one week!

For the second time this season, The Voice will go up against Fox’s X Factor, which broadcasts on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The first was during premiere week for both singing competitions.

NBC’s singing competition continues this week with the final battle rounds, whittling down Teams Adam, Blake, Cee Lo and Christina to just eight contestants. The newly established knockout rounds kick off Oct. 29 and 30, setting up the live performances, which will decide the Top 12 contestants of the season.

NBC has already ordered up two more seasons of The Voice, with Shakira and Usher stepping in as Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green take a break in season 4.

The Voice airs Monday and Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. This week’s Monday episode will be one hour long instead of two due to the final presidential debate starting at 9 p.m. ET.

Who are your favorite contestants so far?

I’m kinda tired of The Voice doing this. During premiere week and then the week of the election, it’s obvious they’re purposely doing this to try to take down X Factor (X Factor ratings would probably be at least a little higher than they are now if it weren’t for The Voice putting on a 3rd night at the very last minute to go up against the X Factor premiere). Hopefully next spring during the 4th season, viewers will start to get tired of the Voice overload and start to drift away–there’s a reason American Idol isn’t on 2 times a year.

This is far too much! This season feels likes it been on forever! They need to reduce the number of contestants, 16 is far too many for a team, I don’t know 70% of them

This is exciting news for all of
us Voice fans! Five hours of The Voice in one week sounds great to me! Two of
my favorite contestants are MarrisaAnn and Necole. I love they’re voices and I
think both have a lot of potential. The Voice always gives me and my DISH
coworkers plenty to talk about. I’ll be recording all three nights that the
Voice is on, with my Hopper. I like to set this up to record all prime time
programming that comes on the four major networks, without the use of any
    individual timers.
