Read the synopses of two upcoming Once Upon a Time episodes, entitled “Tallahassee” and “Child of the Moon.” Emma and Ruby are in focus this time!

Once Upon a Time‘s third episode of season 2, “Lady of the Lake” airs tonight, and it seems like it’ll be another Prince Charming/Snow White-centric episode.

But in the coming weeks you can look forward to learning more about both Emma and Ruby.

Zap2It has released the following description of episode 2×06, entitled “Tallahassee”:

Emma follows Captain Hook up a beanstalk in hope of finding a magical compass; a fellow thief wants to make an honest woman out of Emma.

While the first part sounds pretty straightforward – considering fairytales are real and all that – it would appear that the second part of that sentence is referring to a flashback. We know from season 1 that Emma spent two years in Tallahassee, longer than she spent anywhere else, and it looks like this episode will answer why.

This is also the episode in which we’ll meet Henry’s father! Will he be the “fellow thief” in Tallahassee, or has he perhaps found his way to fairytale land and is actually Jack (hence the beanstalk)? Or could he be both?

The second episode description is for 2×07 “Child of the Moon.” As the title implies, this will center on Little Red Riding Hood, a.k.a. the Big Bad Wolf:

Ruby’s fear about turning into a wolf is confirmed when she becomes the prime suspect for a vicious murder; Leroy finds treasure in a Storybrooke mine that could help Emma and Mary Margaret.

Actor Jarod Joseph will reprise his role as the Storybrooke mechanic Billy in this episode, and we’ll learn his fairytale character indentity.

We have wondered about whether Ruby would transform in Storybrooke, considering that the other magical creatures like Blue and Jiminy Cricket haven’t returned to their fantastical forms (although it looked like Pinocchio had).

Once Upon a Time airs tonight at 8/7c on ABC!

I still say that August is Henry’s father. Look at the way they act around each other in season 1. “A thief wants to make an honest woman out of Emma.” Sounds like someone who had their fair share of honesty issues. Now everyone says that he couldn’t be the father because Emma doesn’t remember August. Perhaps he looked quite different 10 years ago (shaved head, no stubble, glasses perhaps, ect.) or he went by a different name. AND- has anyone ever heard of a one night stand? He might have accidentally knocked her up and split. Emma never said anything about the father except that he wasn’t the heroic firefighter that she told Henry about. My guess is that August wrote the book for his son, which is why he took so much care into repairing it when he added Pinocchio’s story. I could be very wrong here- but we’ll find out in episode 6 won’t we? ;)

***On a side note- Jennifer Morrison said in an interview that she figured out who the father was in the Pilot. At one point in the pilot, Emma claims that Henry’s nose grew, to which he says: “I’m not Pinocchio!” and Emma replies “Of course you’re not, because that would be ridiculous.” Sure he’s not Pinocchio- his FATHER is! (dun dun dun- again: all speculation on my part, but I will WHOOP if I’m right)

i like the idea that August wrote the book – he certainly seemed to know all about it, and it’s always bugged me, wondering how the book got into Storybrooke (though, also, Rumple could have written the undoing of the curse into it)
but i like the idea of Bae being the father – with Rumple as part of the family, definitely gives more of an interesting dynamic.

I love the theory, because I love August, but why wouldn’t she recognize him then as Henry’s father?? I know you kinda addressed this, but I do find this more difficult to believe.
I personally think it’s Bae, but I would rather have it be August 1000 times more :)

I just don’t buy it that Emma wouldn’t recognize him. Also, August admitted that he never saw her again and travelled the world. And I don’t think that it will be a one-night-stand scenario. Not because its not possible, but because the writers can do a lot more with it if there is a relationship there. But I do think that whoever it is will most likely not know that they impregnated her. Baelfire, who had a troubled relationship with his father, I would think would want to be there for his son and probably not have allowed Mr. Gold to bring Henry to Storybrooke. I love August and Emma together but that doesn’t mean that he has to be Henry’s father.

    Where did my comment go?

I am most intrigued by the episode “Child of the Moon”! I am a HUGE Ruby/Little Red fan so any storylines involving her I will always love but her becoming the prime suspect during a murder because she might be turning into a wolf is so fascinating!!!!!!!!

Oooh, I just had an idea! What if someone is trying to frame Ruby for the murder by making it look wolfish? Maybe they’re trying to get back at her for something or are just trying to detract from their own suspicion? I’d like her to turn into a wolf in the ‘real’ world but only if the other character return to their ‘natural’ forms as well. I feel like that would be more consistent.

I think that goldielocks should be Rubys/reds half sister that they never knew about like Goldie kills mama and papa bear takes the baby bear as a companion. She becomes an outcast for some reason..later meets red and grandma still don’t know but she could be in story brooke and her and henery could be come friends and she has a dog( baby bear) she tells henery she thinks she has a sister they find out who it is or something of that story line:)

Pinocchio’s original form was a wooden puppet; magic made him into a real boy. So for now it looks like he’s returned to true form. But as long as he’s not “dead,” there is still hope!
