Warner Brothers has snuck this one up on us, but at least we finally have a reputable confirmation: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Parts 1 and 2 will be released and complete the Ultimate Edition series next week.

Word came via Target in-store promotional advertisements which picture “Years 1 and 2″ in one Ultimate Edition set for release on September 25 (one week from today). The top of the box bills it as a “2 Movie Ultimate Edition.” See it below:

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Ultimate Edition

Warner Bros. has been slowly releasing each of the Harry Potter films in the Ultimate Edition packaging over the past few years. Each has one part of the “Creating the World of Harry Potter” documentary, featuring all-new footage and interviews. These special sets also include collectible cards, extended versions of the films, and more.

In July we showed you German versions of these Ultimate Editions, and notably Parts 1 and 2 were arriving in separate sets. Warner Bros. seems interested in releasing them as one in the United States.

The price has not been revealed, but we’ll keep you updated as more information is released. Thanks to Blu-ray.com and PUsokrJosh305.

    what about the UK ?

    • Rafa Gil

I just want to know the same!!! What about Uk? Are we having the single box american edition or the double box like the germans????

  • http://www.facebook.com/aaccss Alex Smith

Awesome! Surprised it’s not two separate sets considering there are two separate sets listed on Amazon. I’d rather have this combo anyway

very cool. as long as they have a dvd version as well

  • Jacob

All I can say is, “Finally.” (And, you know, “Always.”)

NEXT WEEK!?! I wasn’t expecting them until Thanksgiving holidays! I’d certainly hope there’s a standard DVD version considering my other ones are. Hell I still need 5 & 6 :[

  • DrWho-Glee-HP-Fan

I hope they put it out on DVD too. A Blu-ray player is still on my waiting list (bad economy)…

  • jozefd14

I’m really hoping the price is $30..

  • Bernardo

EXTENDED VERSIONS OF THE FILMS o.o ????

  • Derrick

But wait… if that is the Ultimate Edition for both… what were these? And why are the 4-disc sets each and have the same price of a UE? Maybe they will release them separate as well in that month?

    • Josh G.

Those 4 disc ones are re-releases of Parts 1 and 2 in 3D for all retail stores, last year it was only exclusive to Best Buy for having the 3D versions of parts 1 and 2

      • Derrick

Wow, you are right. Checking the specs on BluRay.com for the 3D versions, they were indeed 4 disc sets. I just didn’t know they were Best Buy Exclusives at the time they had been released, so I didn’t make that connection. That’s what they must be, now.

  • Greg

It would be great if they included the 3D versions!!

  • Christopher

If they have this on DVD, it will probably be the previously-released two disc special editions just packaged together in a fancy digipak case, with the new documentaries, of course. I’ll still buy this to ‘complete’ my collection… but I STILL want the rest of the extended versions as well.

  • StarFlame161

Just checked the Target ad (it covers the 25th) and there was nothing listed for the UE editions…bummer.

    • PUsokrJosh305

It’s still coming out on the 25th, WB doesn’t want it advertised, I’ve been calling my local Target and they said they have shipments coming in for it, it’s coming out tomorrow, trust me

  • Tim

Price is $50. Just got it this morning.

  • PUsokrJosh305

Just got mine this morning, there are very limited numbers at Target stores at this time, so get it while you can!! The Price is $49.99, it includes 6 discs, 2 blu-ray movie discs, 2 movie dvd discs, and 2 special features discs featuring parts 7 and 8 of the Creating the World documentary. The set also includes 4 trading cards, a lentecular cover, and a 48 page picture book, just like the other UEs had, and it’s only on blu-ray, even though the set comes with the movies on DVD, the special features are on blu-ray

    • jozefd14

I LOVE IT!!! I luckily got the very last copy (or maybe the only copy they got) I’m so happy :)

  • WILL

this is it, there was ONE and only one at the two Targets i went to each. No DVD set, this is a Target Exclusive one shot Blu-ray pack

  • morden

Wow, even the Target employees (Chula Vista CA) didn’t know anything about it. I checked one store – nothing. I called two more – they said they only had the part 2 4 disk blu-ray. Not believing, I went to that same store, and found a single solitary copy hiding on a side display far away from the new release section. Really strange. Thanks everyone for the heads up.

  • jozefd14

I also just noticed a difference with the original tentative titles for the 8 part documentary of “creating the world of harry potter” part 7 was suppose to be “growing up potter” and part 8 was suppose to be “the harry potter phenomenon” . They seemed to have changed it completely for part 7 be “the story” which is a conversation between Steve Kloves and JK Rowling and part 8 is “growing up potter”… wonder why the sudden last minute change? =/

  • grapes9h5

YES!!!! This is what I wanted a single ultimate edtion with both parts on it, YES!!!

  • Christopher

Okay, I read that this is official, but I am very, very furious with Warner Bros. for making it a ‘Target Exclusive’, and then waiting until January 6th of next year (AFTER Christmas) for a general release date, not to mention, they STILL won’t include Extended Versions, and the box set is predominantly Blu-ray, so since I have all the other 6 Ultimate Editions on DVD, the boxes won’t match perfectly. I don’t care what anyone says, that is EXTREMELY crooked marketing, and to me, it is downright disgusting.
After I get my copy, I intend to file a complaint to the Better Business Bureau about this, and I personally think others should do the same. This is, without question, the ‘ULTIMATE’ scandal in the history of the movie industry. PERIOD.

    • PUsokrJosh305

You’re gonna find that a lot of studios are going to start pushing blu-ray only things because it’s the better format, I know the economy is tough and getting a blu-ray player isn’t a priority but soon it’s gonna be mandatory because studios have already started making that switch to blu-ray and the production of dvds will stop, I switched over in 2009, haven’t bought a dvd since then, I feel like this release is for fans who have been complaining about the lack of the UE, like me, the set is fantastic though!!

      • PUsokrJosh305

As for extended editions, WB asked the directors about it and only Chris Columbus said yes, the others said their movies are fine the way they are, ABC family has an agreement that allows them to broadcast the extended versions, but as for retail, we won’t see them, that’s just how it goes
