America’s Got Talent just crowned its season 7 champion. Five of the seven seasons have been won by singers, season 2 was won by a ventriloquist, but this year’s winner was far different. The winner is…

Olate Dogs

Olate Dogs

Since they made it to the end, the finalists got the treat of having special performances without the pressure of effecting their outcome. David Garibaldi and his CMYk’s duetted with Flo Rida on his song “Cry.” William Close duetted with One Republic. The Olate Dogs and The Untouchables teamed up to perform with Frankie J. Tom Cotter roasted the judges and Nick (with the help of Joan Rivers). Joe Castillo duetted with former members of the PS22 chorus to Lady Gaga’s “Edge of Glory.”

They announced the results one by one throughout the night, and this is how the results came out:

6. The Untouchables

5. Joe Castillo

4. David Garibaldi and his CMYK’s

3. William Close

2. Tom Cotter

1. Olate Dogs

Last night The Olate Dogs added another dog to their act, and they re-proved how great their set of tricks were. It’s a fun act, and they proved an animal act can win America’s Got Talent.

Congrats to the Olate Dogs on the terrific season.

Are you glad the Olate Dogs won season 7 of ‘America’s Got Talent’?

Tom Cotter should’ve won, but ‘grats to Olate Dogs.

  • Danielle

I missed most of last nights show and tonights- gotta say I’m not really impressed with the winner. I guess I looked at this show as “who would be the best Vegas Act?” and while super talented, the dogs wouldn’t be my choice. I think William Close or Tom Cotter should have won.

YES YES YES. i love them. i saw them two years ago with a circus in NYC. it was an incredible experience and i’m so happy for them!

Such a shame, I was was rooting for William Close to win, he had such an amazing talent! but I agreed with Hypable, I had a feeling it would either be Close, Cotter, or Olate.

I didn’t throw my own opinions into this, but it’s really a shame. Sure, dogs that do tricks are cool, but there’s no way they should have beat the most original act ever (I mean, come on, a harp that extends across an ENTIRE auditorium) and a world class comedian.

And a dog trick act won Britain’s Got Talent!

This year has gone to the dogs.

      • Danielle

When she and her cute pooch performed on AGT I was a little dissapointed. I was thinking “this is the best of Britain?!”
I know I look like a huge animal hater in my posts and I swear that’s not the case haha I just don’t like animal acts.

Completely agree. It’s cute and all, and would be fun to maybe watch as part of a bigger show, maybe a circus, or something. BUT, William Close and Tom Cotter were both acts that I could go and watch for an hour or more and not get bored! The dogs got boring after the the second 90 seconds.

    • Danielle

Agreed. I like to think that both Close and Cotter will get recognition for their talent and are provided opportunities outside of the show. I would pay money to see either of them. That’s what I thought this show was about. Still, I have to admit, I’m now getting into these type of formatted shows (this was my first voting live show I’ve ever watched).

AGT was my gateway drug as well. I started watching last year, and although I cover AGT, The Voice is my favorite by far.

  • Moses

    This is bull shit.

I do not think that animals have a place in show business as they don’t have a say. I think this is utter BS and Tom Cotter AND William Close were both WAY better and more entertaining. Stupid America.

Well that proves it, cuteness wins over talent.

Am I the only one who found William Close to be overblown? Amazing concept, but very stale execution and really no growth from his first to last act.

    • Danielle

I thought that at first but I think you have to remember that the experience live would be pretty epic compared to watching it through the tv. The fact that your venue is basically an instrument is very cool.

    What…? I am
disappointed to know that a dog circus won AGT this year. Did America
just realize that the act who will win will get to show on a stage for
90 minutes? Dog circuses are good for 1 minute of performance, but for
90 min straight, the dogs might get tired from doing the same tricks
over and over again. Dogs aren’t like people and will get bored easily.

Close should’ve won, imo. Besides the Earth Harp, the longest string
instrument, he had displayed other unique instruments he made him self
and made a super unique band out of it during the last performance! I
voted for him twice in hopes of him winning. I have no idea why America
chose a comedian and a dog circus rather than William and CMYK. We had
    enough comedians already.

We need more people who are creative,
imaginative, and original to take the stages in Vegas. If America
couldn’t take originality and creativity anymore then that’s just sad.

I guessed the whole order correct on the other hypable finale order :). Glad Olate Dogs won!

I am very blessed with AGT when animals finally play because they have short lives. I am very sick to my stomach with LOUIE, DANIELLE and some others who talk nasty about dogs. God loves humans, animals and environment. You, people who are humans make me very sick. All you care about is people. Dogs do nothing but love you and are very loyal to you. I am so shamed of humans. Look at this sad world due to your lack of empathy. You all dont understand about animals. They have deeply feelings. God gave me a sign saying animals day would come and rock the world. OLATE DOGS ARE THE BEST and give me a break. Tom Collier can sing at any time because he lives longer. Dogs dont. SCREW YOU LOUIE, DANIELLE and others. I am a deaf person. I dont need your pity. I can do anything but DOGS deserve RESPECT and LOVE from all of you. DOGS SUFFER AND SUFFER due to neglect, abuse and all that. SCREW YOU LOUIE and DANIELLE. YOU SICK SELFISH PEOPLE. HUMANS SUCK! GREED, MURDER and WHATSOEVER. Louie, its not a shame but you are a big time shame. PERIOD.

Olate dogs, please do not listen to nasty people who talk stupid. Dogs are gods. They have a lack of empathy. God bless animals. KEEP ROCKING THE WORLD AND GO VEGAN.

Dogs have short lives. Give them a big RESPECT AND LOVE. People who talk nasty about dogs, they do suck because they live longer than most dogs do. I am very HAPPY with AGT.

Old news I know, but I’m disappointed. Olate Dogs should have been fifth or sixth place in the finals, but I just knew they would take 1st or 2nd place in a public vote just because the act featured cute animals; no matter how good you are, you’ll never beat cuteness in America’s eyes -_-

Cotter, Close and Garibaldi were all better acts and Castillo showed that he probably has the most pure talent, as he was clearly able to create new, relevant stories on-the-go rather than just having several songs lined up and presenting them all one by one.

Besides, what are the Olate Dogs people going to do with the money and fame? The dogs are already trained and it’s a circus act, so there’s not much that they can do with it. These other performers really had an opportunity to advance their own careers and it was blown because America likes cute animals -_-
