Doctor Who‘s latest adversary terminates an opponent in a brand new clip from upcoming Western episode “A Town Called Mercy.”
Originally the episode’s namesake, The Gunslinger is a vicious but misunderstood cyborg who terrorizes the citizens of the town of Mercy. Played by Andrew Brooke, the ruthless monster will stop at nothing until he gets (what he considers) justice in a rip-roaring, character driven Western episode. The first official clip from “A Town Called Mercy,” introduces us to the Doctor’s latest adversary – in which the villain demonstrates his “terminating” skills on a whimpering citizen of Mercy. Check it out below, courtesy of the Doctor Who website.
“A tale of war, betrayal and vengeance, converging on one small town in the Old West – a town under siege. Just crossing the boundary line summons a not-quite-human killer from the desert haze. The Doctor finds himself not just in the crossfire of an ancient conflict (a cyborg killer and an alien fugitive) but faced with a moral dilemma. Which side should he take? Who really is the victim here?”
Also starring Adrian Scarborough oppositte regulars Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill, “A Town Called Mercy” airs this Saturday at 7.30 pm GMT in the United Kingdom, following later on BBC America and SPACE at 9 pm EST in the United States and Canada respectively. Australian viewers can catch the episode on iview following the British broadcast, with ABC premiering the adventure the following week.
What do you think of the clip? How will The Gunslinger compare to the Daleks and Solomon?
