The Walking Dead comic creator and show executive producer Robert Kirkman is seen in a behind-the-scenes look at season three’s massive prison set.
“I don’t even know what to do right now,” Kirkman says as he explores a set that until then he had only envisioned in his mind and on paper. “The team have been working around the clock to get this all together and ready. They’ve been painting dirt and grit on things to make it look like it’s old. They’ve been walking around, taking bits of trash – like this keyboard – and throwing it around to make it look like it’s a prison that’s been rioted and left and abandoned.”
He continues the tour by taking us through an individual prison cell to show how they were built. “I feel really uncomfortable here, frankly” as he stands in a cell.
The video closes with a very exciting tease that should have viewers pumped. “You have no idea what’s coming, but I promise you it’s absolutely thrilling, absolutely amazing, and anyone who’s familiar with the comic series knows that the things that start happening once Rick and his group to the prison are the things that make The Walking Dead what it is.”
The Walking Dead season 3 premieres Sunday, October 14 at 9 PM ET/PT on AMC!
