Hypable

Hypable was at the premiere of Stephen Chbosky’s The Perks of Being a Wallflower in Los Angeles last night, and we had the opportunity to interview lead star Emma Watson who plays Sam.

Our first question to Watson, who brilliantly portrayed Hermione Granger in eight Harry Potter films, was about the hot-button topic of a potential series remake and who she would want to play. Though she was hesitant to accept the notion that one would be made soon, this reporter pressed on and (perhaps lyingly) insisted that fans want to see it.

“In a very hypothetical world, I don’t think they’ll make one anytime soon, Professor McGonagall,” she told us. “She’s kind of badass – especially in the last movie.”

In June we told you that Dan would want to play Lupin in a Harry Potter remake and predicted one would happen in 20 years’ time.

We then drew our attention to Perks and why both the book and film have been so well received by its young readers.

“I think it’s just that this really speaks to their experience. It’s not a glossed version. It’s not sensationalized, it’s not glamorized, it’s just very real. It’s very very funny but doesn’t skip over the tough stuff.”

Hypable’s review of Perks describes the film as a story with “perfectly picked actors, eloquently written plot, and thought-provoking messages on love and life.” It makes its limited release in the United States on September 21.

Later today we’ll bring you an interview with author and director Stephen Chbosky who explains why only he could direct this story, reveals a deleted scene to expect on the DVD, and more.

Would you like to see Emma Watson in a ‘Harry Potter’ remake?

I think she would make a great McGonagall in 20years. In the meantime I’m glad she’s able to move on and be successful in other films. I know she, and many other, feared she would become one of those “child actors” who were doomed to fail. She’s brilliant

  • Peg

Oh Andrew, how I envy you right now.

I love the fancy hypable mics, and the fact that Emma basicly laughed at Andrews question about the remake..

  • Kate

I love Emma so much, but her makeup is a bit dramatic for the dress she’s wearing. It kind of makes me want to cringe. >.<

  • katie

gah Andrew… you always get to do the cool stuff! jealous! :)

  • Katie

    Go Andrew!

  • Jack

I was thinking about this the other day and my choice for her was McGonagall – so glad she agrees! Haha

  • Rumbleroar Luna

I can’t wait for the movie. I just borrowed the book from my friend and I’m gonna start it tonight so I can read it before the movie comes out, ’cause that’s how I roll :)

“this reporter pressed on and (perhaps lyingly) insisted that fans want to see it.”

*looks at who wrote the article*

    Oh, Andrew….LOL.

    • http://twitter.com/aadnama Amanda Douglas

I did the same exact thing, haha.

  • Jane

Personally, I don’t want the people who ruined the first movies (namely, Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe) to have a chance to ruin the remakes as well.

    • Azeem

Just go and dig a hole and die there. Please.

    • Alissa

I can understand being annoyed with Dan, but I think that Emma’s improved a ton over the years. She would probably do a good McGonagall.

Sick of all this remake talk….its just stupid
