The eighth and final episode in Breaking Bad‘s fifth season just finished airing on AMC. Now it’s time to discuss with fellow fans!

The finale saw Walt tying up loose ends and making a decision that will impact his entire family.

There are now eight episodes remaining in Breaking Bad‘s life. They will air sometime in 2013 – we presume late spring or summer. The cast has not yet begun filming.

This season was absolutely one of our favorites from the show yet. Was it yours? We’ll be sure to share interviews with the cast and crew as they discuss what happened.

this is actually the last episode of the year, not season. The second half of season 5 will continue next summer.

Well technically, but they may very easily officially denote those final eight episodes as season 6, separate from season 5, which was filmed and written separately.

Id prefer if they did it that way, even though this episode was very not like other season finales of this show.

They could easily have next year’s set be season 6, but it’s not, which is why the above article (and many other articles on the internet right now) is incorrect in saying season 5 is done. It’s just the mid-season finale.

When they first showed the book at the begining of the episode as Walt got out of the shower, I was like, “nice nod to Gale, hahaha” but i never thought that it would lead to IT. Then hank goes in the bathroom, I had forgotten about the book, but I was like why show us Hank in there unless something big was gonna happen, and then boom, the book!!!! I need a refresher… did Gale give Walt that book???? Seemed like it. I need to rewatch!!

    Is Hank going to wipe?

      IGN comment:
Marie: Jesus, what was I thinking? Hank, let’s both of us stop trying to justify this thing and admit you need a plunger!!

Hank: Who are you talking to right now? What is it that you think you
smell? Do you know how much I eat a year? Even if I told you, you
wouldnt believe it. Do you know what would happen if I suddenly decided
to stop flushing? “Business” big enough that it could be listed on the
NASDAQ goes belly up. No, you clearly dont know who you’re talking to…
so let me clue you in. I don’t need a plunger, I AM THE PLUNGER. A man
flushes his toilet and doesnt wipe, and you think that of me? NO. I AM
THE ONE WHO WIPES. *heads into bathroom, slams door.*

So I wonder if Walt really quit or that was a lie?

Hands down the best episode of season 5 so far. It was nice to see the season finally move in a substantial direction. I was getting rather tired of mopey Skylar and the flailing cook business. Those story lines just weren’t doing it for me. The pacing, though, was fine considering we have half a season to go. I just can’t wait.

The directing was superb, although a tad heavy-handed at points. The two montages were perfection.

How amazing were all those callbacks to past seasons?
