Though not officially announced, Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes was revealed by Konami as the next Metal Gear game at an event celebrating the 25th anniversary of the series today.
Press and attendees were forbidden to reveal the game but that didn’t stop word from leaking out via Twitter anyway.
The title is believed to be open-world and is running on the new Fox Engine.
The presentation of Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes showed off Snake avoiding searchlights before performing a stealth kill, riding in a jeep and calling in a helicopter for evacuation, according to Mark Macdonald of 8-4 Play who was in attendance.

One attendee said the game was running on current-gen PC specs and remarked the demo was “truly amazing.”
Ground Zeroes appears to be the second Metal Gear title currently in development with Metal Gear Rising Revengeance due out early next year from Platinum Games.
A second attempt at bringing the franchise to the big screen with Columbia Pictures was also announced at the event. Avi Arad, producer of The Amazing Spider-Man and Iron Man, is attached to the project.
Expect an official announcement of Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes from Konami very soon.
