Just as Star Wars: The Phantom Menance was released in 3D earlier this year, Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith will hit theaters back-to-back in 2013, both in 3D.

Attack of the Clones will hit theaters on September 20, 2013, and Revenge of the Sith will be released three weeks later on October 11, 2013.

UPDATE (11/20/2012): Lucasfilm has announced that Sith will be moving up to October 4, 2013. Clones remains at September 20, 2013.

Attack of the Clones has the same release date as The Little Mermaid‘s 3D re-release, and Revenge of the Sith will be hitting theaters a week after Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, which will probably also be in 3D as well.

What are your thoughts on Star Wars being re-released in 3D? Did you enjoy Phantom Menace in 3D?

Thanks to Coming Soon for the tip.

I plan on seeing all of these re-releases when they come out, as I did for The Phantom Menace, but I’m not seeing them for the 3D aspect, because I honestly don’t like 3D. I’m seeing them so that I can watch them on the big screen. I’m 16, so I grew up while the prequel trilogy was releasing, therefore I never saw any of the originals in theatres, and I can barely remember seeing episodes I and II.

      Me too, all the way.

Yah the 3D does nothing for me, but the chance to see all these movies over again in theaters, with or without the 3D, is worth the money.

I will just watch them at home in wonderful 2D. I don’t think episodes I and II are great but I love episodes III – VI

Yay!! I love these ones. These, and the Disney remakes, are actually really good in 3D

I’ll go when 4-6 comes around.

I am ridiculously excited about this. I decided to not go see Phantom Menace, and I now regret it, A LOT. So, I will make sure that I will buy my tickets and sit down for these movies. Because I love them, and that is just what a Star Wars Fan would do :D
