Thor: The Dark World has cast yet another pivotal role, as Lost star Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has signed on for not one but two of the lead villain roles, playing the dual roles of Algrim the Strong and Kurse.
Variety reported on the casting, writing of the characters:
In the comicbooks, Algrim the Strong was the most powerful of a race of Dark Elves, who is coerced by Malekith to fight Thor. After he’s betrayed by Malekith and injured during a battle, Algrim is healed and transformed into a much more powerful being called Kurse, who is twice as a strong as Thor.
Algrim was one of the many Dark Elves who served the ruler Malekith the Accursed – who’s being portrayed by Christopher Eccleston.
Shooting on the Thor sequel is currently taking place in London. The film has a slated release date of November 8, 2013. Are you excited to see Akinnuoye-Agbaje join the cast?
