In light of the tragic events in Aurora, Colorado, The Dark Knight Rises composer Hans Zimmer scored a track to benefit the victims.

It is now available in iTunes.

The 8 minute, 36 second piece is simply titled “Aurora” and is available for $1.29. All proceeds from each sale will be donated to The Aurora Victims Relief Fund at Community First Foundation.

Zimmer had this to say about composing it: “‘Aurora’ is dedicated to those who lost their lives and were affected by the tragedy in Aurora, Colorado. I recorded this song in London in the days following the tragedy as a heartfelt tribute to the victims and their families.”

This piece was beautiful. Quite an honorable thing for Mr. Zimmer to do. He certainly has my full respect.

I wonder how much money it’s brought in so far?
