Rumors are already swirling about The Dark Knight Rises DVD/Blu-Ray release date and according to Blu-ray.com we may be seeing it just in time for the holidays.

Reports are stating that The Dark Knight Rises Blu-ray/DVD release date is set for December 7. Based on previous release patterns, this looks to be a fairly good estimate considering it gives the film enough time in theaters, yet gives it a chance to be a hot holiday purchase.

Update: The Dark Knight Rises DVD/Blu-ray release date is officially December 4.

this seems about right, the dark knight was released around the same time (early december) when it was released on DVD/Blu-ray. still gonna keep an eye on blu-ray.com for an official statement from warner home entertainment though.

I really hope they have exclusive editions for this release or an ultimate trilogy edition!

Hasn’t been in theaters a week now, NEED BLU-RAY!

    Can’t wait!

I think this release date is accurate. Those HP films which released in cinemas in July usually had their DVD releases in late November/early December. And since HP and Nolan’s Batman films are under the same studio (WB), I think December 7 would be the correct release date.

How do you people all WANT this? The film was incredibly disappointing, and hearing about the shootings after I saw it made me never want to see it again. I will not be buying this Blu-Ray.

    • Craig Wilson

I saw the film just after it opened and really enjoyed it. The bluray release cannot come soon enough :-) I agree though, the shooting were extremely tragic and I send my condolences to the victims and there families, god bless.

Possibly the dumbest thing I’ve heard anyone say about this entire ordeal. Well done. You think the victims wouldn’t want us to enjoy the film? They were midnight movie goers, true Batman fans, they would be the people who couldn’t wait for this DVD release. By letting some lunatic change your life in anyway, only shames the loss of their lives. You’re simply giving him exactly what he wanted, for you or anyone else to alter there lives because of his acts. Think before you speak.

If you watch the batmobile documentary that Hypable posted, at the end of it there is a statement saying that it will be out this holiday season.  So for the reports to say December 7th makes a lot of sense.

This is the first and probably only film I will purchase on Blu-Ray
