With just one week to go until the start of the 2012 London Olympics, it seems that the Spice Girls could be in the mix to close the games.
According to reports by The Hollywood Reporter and Us Weekly, the Spice Girls will join George Michael, The Who, Take That, Emeli Sande and Jessie J in the Aug. 12 closing ceremony. They will reportedly perform two songs – “Wannabe” likely being one of them.
Though still unconfirmed, “Posh Spice” Victoria Beckham seemed to hint at an Olympics performance during a radio interview, THR reports.
“I don’t know about a comeback tour, but I loved being back with the girls…we are very excited about the Olympics,” Beckham said.
The British pop group last week announced a musical based on their songs coming to London’s West End in December.
