Steven Spielberg is working on his next big film, Robopocalypse, and is eyeing a popular actor to star in his technothriller.
Deadline is reporting that Chris Hemsworth (Thor, The Avengers, Snow White and the Huntsman) is wanted by Spielberg for Robopocalypse. While this casting is not confirmed yet, this would be the first time Hemsworth and Spielberg would potentially work together.
Robopocalypse is based on the novel by Daniel H. Wilson about “the human race’s attempt to survive an apocalyptic robot uprising,” and the script will be adapted by Drew Goddard. The film is likely to be a huge hit, as three studios – Disney, Fox, and DreamWorks – are all producing the film.
Robopocalypse will open in theaters on April 25, 2014, which is the same weekend that The Avengers opened this year.
