Animation studio Dreamworks have confirmed plans for a third Kung Fu Panda film during a presentation at San Diego Comic-Con.
Variety is reporting that the film has been greenlit, joining a roster of 19 animation films that the studio behind Shrek are planning. The first two films bagged a massive $1.2 billion in box-office receipts, and the franchise has even been given a television series.
No word yet on whether Jack Black (who voiced protagonist Po in the first two instalments) will return, but in April the actor said that he would “love” to return to the series.
Are you excited at the prospect of Kung Fu Panda 3, or have you grown tired of Po and co.?
