In a new interview, Eoin Bailey talks playing Pinocchio on Once Upon a Time, and having to change the character backstory he had originally imagined.
Speaking to myFanbase, Bailey reveals that originally, he didn’t know who his fairytale counterpart was supposed to be:
[I knew] nothing more than what was stated in his entrance, a stranger, rides in on a motorcycle, typewriter inside a wooden box. I created my own character history from that information, and then I had to change it all when I found out who my character was four episodes later.
He also speaks about dealing with the writers’ secrecy, and the way he uses past tense here makes us worried about his chances of returning to the show:
They had an interesting plan, they were never honest with me about anything, as far as I can tell, which on some level, they must have thought was a clever way to deal with the actor playing Pinocchio.
In the interview, Bailey was also informed that both he and Jared Gilmore (Henry) have been submitted by ABC to the Emmy board for consideration. Let’s hope they end up being nominated!
