A new gorgeous poster for Anna Karenina has been revealed, as Joe Wright’s new feature is clearly going for Oscar gold with this one.

Set in late-19th-century Russia high-society, the aristocrat Anna Karenina enters into a life-changing affair with the affluent Count Vronsky.

Check out the domestic poster below, with the tagline “You can’t ask why about love.”

The film stars Keira Knightley (Pirates of the Caribbean), Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass), Jude Law (Sherlock Holmes), Kelly Macdonald (Brave), Matthew Macfadyen (Pride & Prejudice), and Domhnall Gleeson (Harry Potter). Are you excited for this one?

I find it kind of funny that Keira Knightly is credited with Pirates of the Caribbean where she has done many other films that are probably a lot better, for example, Atonement, and even Pride & Prejudice, which Matthew Macfadyen is being credited for.
    So interesting Hypable :)

Hahah. I’ve always done Atonement for Knightley in the past, but I got tired of doing the same old stuff.

What a gorgeous dress! That’s one of my favorite things about these types of movies: the costumes. :) This really is a beautiful poster, though, and even though I’ve never been the biggest fan of Anna Karenina, I plan to see this just because of the cast. *coughDomhnallGleesoncough*

That woman is just born to wear that kind of dress! Has anyone seen The Duchess? It was an excellent film and she was superb in it, and those dresses were fabulous!

Whats Keira’ deal with this period movies? I mean I get it its a Joe Wright movie and I love him, but the girl seems to be stuck in this kind of movie, it wont kill her to do another genre once in a while

Yeah, it is kind of sad that she’s gotten herself typecast, but it might have been her choice as she is fantastic in every single one.  I reckon that in a few years she’ll do a Helena Bonham Carter and manage to break away from period films to be awesome in any film.

But she doesn’t do just period films. She just did Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, Never Let Me Go before that. Plus she did Bend it like Beckham and Love Actually. I’d say she has a good mix, it’s only her prominent films that are period.

    OSCAR awaits for this one.
