Rumours indicate that the studios are working on a sequel to the 1993 family horror/comedy.
Movie Hole reports that a follow-up is in the works, tentatively titled Hocus Pocus 2: Rise of the Elderwitch. No word yet on whether original director and then-future High School Musical mastermind Kenny Ortega will be involved, but the title seems to suggest the second entry could be moving away from original cast members Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy – who played three witches that declare war on trick-or-treaters. The family comedy was largely lauded for it’s off-beat humour, and has recently achieved a certain level of cult status.
We’ll let you know if these rumours come to fruition!
