America’s Got Talent was in the audition rounds for the final time last night. Here’s our recap of last night’s show.
The first act to make it on to next week’s Vegas rounds was six-year-old dancer Lil Starr. I was absolutely blown away by her skills, especially for such a young girl. I normally don’t care for the little kids, but there’s no way you could not agree she deserves very high praise.
787 Crew is a dance crew from Puerto Rico, and they were the next act to advance to Vegas. They paid for their flight here, and it was well worth it. They were very solid in every way, and I found them entertaining though I don’t typically like many dance acts. I think they’ll go pretty far in the competition.
Stand-up comedian Jacob Williams was the next act to pass on to Vegas. The judges were wild with praise for him, but they didn’t really laugh that hard. I chuckled a bit at his jokes, but unless he gives a great performance in Vegas, I can’t really see him moving on.
Mary Joyner is the act AGT has been waiting to show us. It wanted to save the best for last, and Mary certainly can fit that bill. The daughter of USA Olympians Al Joyner and Flo-Jo, Mary certainly had everything needed to be an amazing runner. She chose to be a singer, and I’m glad she did. Mary has a beautiful and powerful voice. It was a bit pitchy at times, and that’s the only thing keeping me from saying that she’s the act to beat. She certainly has a very good shot to go all the way.
That’s all for the auditions. AGT returns next week with the highly anticipated Las Vegas rounds where the judges whittle the acts from over 100 down to 48.
