As we discussed on our Hunger Games podcast a few weeks ago, United Kingdom theatergoers missed out on a couple of crucial scenes in the film. They were cut to lower the rating.
The DVD/Blu-ray was announced today, and we’re learning it’ll include those cut scenes.
The film hits store shelves in September. It will include “a version not seen” in the country. The DVD received a 15 rating (it was rated 12A in theaters). In the UK, blood was digitally removed and shots of previous Hunger Games at the start of the film, where rocks were hitting heads, were also taken out. The scene when Cato snaps the neck of someone else was also reduced. We suspect these’ll be the scenes added back in.
The announcement was made on TheUKWillBeWatch.co.uk. Particular special features were not announced, but you can see the list of United States features as to give you an idea of what’s to come.
