Britney Spears’ 2007 album, Blackout, has become the pop star’s first album to make it into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s music library and archives.
As MTV reports, Blackout was added June 13, after going platinum in July 2011.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s library and archives hold resources related to the history of rock and roll “to broaden awareness and understanding of rock and roll, its roots, and its impact on our society.”
Other albums in the music library and archives include The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black and Madonna’s Like a Virgin.
Blackout came out as Spears’ public behavior dominated headlines, but the album received critical acclaim, with Rolling Stone calling it “the most influential pop album of the past five years.”
Of all of Britney’s albums, is Blackout the best?
