Harry Potter lead actor Dan Radcliffe has always been one to enter new areas of the entertainment business (think Equus and How to Succeed). Now he seems interested in trying on tights to become a superhero – one with a symbolic lightning bolt like Harry’s.

In brief comments made while promoting the Woman in Black DVD, Radcliffe said he’d be most interested in becoming The Flash:

“There’s not many superheroes left who haven’t been done but I don’t think anyone’s done The Flash yet,” says Daniel.

“That’s one I’d probably have a go at but I don’t have any immediate plans. There are lots of offers around, but I want to do something that I’m really passionate about.”

It’s not clear whether Radcliffe meant he had lots of superhero offers or film offers in general, but we’d love to see him as a hero. Wouldn’t you?

Which superhero do you think Radcliffe would be best at?

  • Peeta Mellark

    ….nah….can’t see it

      lol….

I know he was on the longlist for Spiderman but was beat out by Andrew Garfield. I’d love to see him as a superhero!

    • http://forgiveyourmind.tumblr.com/ Tariq

I think Andrew fit that persona better.

There’s just something about Dan that doesn’t say superhero to me. Though it’d be interesting to see him try.

      • Cortney J

Agreed on all counts! Dan has more of an anti-hero, passive nature. Also, he recently said he wants to be a villain! Maybe he should play a super villain? Now that, I could see.

      • http://www.facebook.com/heather.smith07 Heather Smith

Oh, no, I totally agree! Andrew was pretty perfect casting for Spiderman. I was just refering to the “offers” comment, and then seperately meant that I’d like to see him as a superhero one day! Sorry for the confusion.

But I agree. I love Andrew Garfield and think he’ll be an amazing Spiderman.

Is it weird that I can actually see him as the Flash? huh.

  • http://twitter.com/TokoMasho Matthew Potter

Radcliffe is a great actor and I want to see him in more stuff, but he’s like three feet tall, so I don’t think the Flash would be a good fit. Maybe one of the X-men or something. I don’t know, but I can’t quite imagine him being one of the spandex-superheroes.

    • guest

      5!!!
he’s 5”6 feet tall. which is average

if you’re going to be condescending get your facts right.

      • Stagegirl12

It is called an exaggeration.  Often used when you are trying to make a point.  I am pretty sure Matthew Potter does not actually think Radcliffe is three feet tall.  I believe someone (you) is a little bit self conscious about their height.  Also you wrote 5 inches 6 feet tall which is incorrect.

Stage girl his pretty small as such a ton of actors are small but they appear hugh tom cruise

  • GeekGirl101

“There’s not many superheroes left who haven’t been done” Uh, wrong, Dr. Druid, Quicksilver, Spider-Man, MOST DC Superheroes excluding Green Lantern, Batman, and Superman, a TON of Marvel characters, lots of X-men, most of the Avengers, Young Avengers, Runaways, Dr. Strange, Ms. Marve….I can go on all day.

Would Daniel Radcliff make a good Flash? HA HA HA HAH…..NO! But by all means stick in the DC universe. No offense, but he isn’t the greatest of actors.

    • Cortney J

…what? Spider-Man, many of the X-Men and most recently the Avengers have been “done”, if by “done” we mean they have movies made about them. I agree with you in that there are a lot more superheroes that could have movies and things written about them, but I’m not sure if I understand why you’ve listed Spider-Man, X-Men and Avengers. Unless you interpreted Dan’s comment differently…?

      • GeekGirl101

Sorry, I see why that looks confusing. What I mean is there are still plenty of X-men and Avengers that we haven’t seen. And I shouldn’t have put Spider-Man in there. That was my mistake.

        • Guest

Dont appologise to this piece of work love, I may not agree with your view but this guy obviously needs to get a life other than a screen so he doesn’t have to call people with a coherent opinion ‘bitch’.

    • tG

um… spider-man, batman, green lantern, the avengers, superman… you do realize that those either have been done or are in the process of being done, right? And Radcliffe isn’t that bad, he was just the victim of horrible direction in the potter films.

      • GeekGirl101

Yes, I am aware those have been done, but there is an extremely large number of superheroes in DC and Marvel, not to mention Image and Dark Horse. Just because those have been done does not mean most superheroes have been done. Boy needs to expand his horizons.

Yeah, I’m not talking about the Potter films, that is a different issue entirely. I’m saying that he needs to understand that there is such a large amount of heroes out there outside of the ones that have been done.

I just don’t like him that much as an actor.

        • tG

…but you said in your previous comment that the ones I mentioned hadn’t been done yet… while there are a lot of superheroes left, many of your examples were incorrect. And he isn’t that bad, his performance on SNL shows that he can act pretty well.

    • guest

then you obviously haven’t seen him in Equus, My Boy Jack and the Woman in Black.

he might not be the BEST yet, but he is pretty capable

Also, bitch? he’s only 23. he has his whole career in front of him so he is only going to get better because he takes acting better.

      bitch

      • GeekGirl101

Just because I don’t particularly like the guy is no reason to call me names. How rude and immature.
But my point still stands. I can’t think of any legit Marvel or DC character that I’d actually want him to play. I’ve seen those, but it is a huge jump from Woman in Black to a superhero. I just don’t think he can do it.
Despite that, it still doesn’t give you the right to call me a bitch.

I would rather see him as a villain. Maybe The Riddler? Haha :)

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Micah-李-文-Jung/100000482007095 Micah 李 文 Jung

or the riddler!  Mad Hatter!  If you saw the batman animated series god that was a good tv show

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1683360003 Paige Barton

I can’t see him as The Flash. I can see Anton Yelchin playing the Flash, though

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Micah-李-文-Jung/100000482007095 Micah 李 文 Jung

Not the flash but the Mad Hatter Beastboy his hairy and Daniel hairy. some superhero who is short but has a lot of charsima

  • Jason

This sounds good. Warner Bros. needs to create a cinematic universe to boost DC’s credibility and getting some international appeal would do it.

  • http://twitter.com/ceilidh_brenzzz Ceilidh Brennan

Totally thought of Sheldon Cooper when I saw this picture

  • Kimmee

I honestly think he will be a horrible superhero, he’s not a good actor. I was not impressed with him at all in Women in Black I thought he did a horrible job, he looks so awkward on screen and he looks very tense.

  • KatnissLovegood

If i was to see Dan as a hero, I’d want to see him as Harry Potter….

  • pepperpotts

    No

  • http://www.facebook.com/jorge.mad1 Jorge Mad

after he admitted made Potter drunk several times probably would fit as IronMan or Hanckock

  • http://www.worldwidecosplay.com/products/Product_476.html elle88

Whichever superhero he likes to play, i will be very happy.

  • BecauseICan

I would definitely watch that :D
