They seem to have a good handle on this. I love the stage show, so I was apprehensive when I heard about the movie. Looks good so far though!

I haven’t seen the musical, but the story of Les Misérables is so intense that I really don’t want to be disappointed by hearing Jean Valjean singing as he suffers through the entire movie.

I was SO excited when the 1998 Les Miserables came out, and was so annoyed with it. Prior to seeing this trailer, I wasn’t going to even bother with the movie. This has totally made me change my mind. Also, it made me research Hugh Jackman as a singer and he’s AWESOME! I’m willing to give this a chance :)

  I was extremely hesitant too! But totally agree that this trailer changed my mind. I knew Hugh Jackman would be good, but I was worried about Anne and Amanda having strong enough vocals.

I am sooo excited for this movie. It’s interesting that they’ve moved the placement of “I dreamed a dream.” In the musical she sings the song before her hair is cut, but from the clips they show of her singing it, her hair is already cut when she sings it.

Odd/annoying that there wasn’t even a glimpse of enjolras and the thernardiers. That trailer had way too much fantine for how long she’s in the movie. But still, it looks great and I’m super excited!

  I think they may still be filming the Thernardiers scenes. Both HBC and Sacha Baron Cohen have been promoting their films (Dark Shadows/The Dictator) while they were filming the Fantine/end scenes in Greenwich, so I’m guessing Tom Hooper waited a bit to start with them, maybe until Anne Hathaway’s scenes were done.

Yep, I cried. Not teared up, full on crying. I knew Tom Hooper/Anne Hathaway wouldn’t disappoint me, but this is even better than what I was expecting. CAN’T WAIT! :D

Um, where is Jean Valjean??? This is his story and Hugh Jackman is barely in it. I really hope they stay true to the musical and not focus too much on Anne Hathaway because of her star power. Eitherway, it stlll looks amazing and I’m super excited to see it!

  They’re still filming it so they probably either haven’t shot a lot of his scenes yet or they are trying to keep it under wraps to build hype for the release. And it’s working, at least on me lol

  I think this is one of the most recognizable songs from the show, especially thanks to Susan Boyle, so they are definitely taking advantage of that. I think given the landscape at the beginning and that clip of Valjean in the chain gang are proof that they’re going to follow his story.

All I can say is thank god Taylor Swift didn’t end up playing Eponine. I’m still a little ify about Amanda Seyfried as Cosette, but I guess I’ll just have to wait and see. Anyway, the trailer looks awesome!

IT WAS SOOOOO GOOOD!!!!!! but here’s something i noticed: it showed Anne Hathaway singing I dreamed a dream with her hair short. Does this mean that they switched the order of the songs and put Lovely Ladies before it. Just something I caught. It looks amazing though. So exited!

  Yep. If you watched her hosting the Oscars with James Franco, she sang there. She also sang in the movie Ella Enchanted. You should look into it. She’s actually really good.

I am really excited for this, as I love Les Mis, but have never had a chance to see it live. I am surprised they are using such big names. I hope they all have the vocal chops to do justice to their roles and aren’t just cast because of their star power.

it was amazing being on the set watching my nephew filming. It will be a great film and it was filmed in greenwich. It will be amazing i cant wait to see it now i’v ebeen on set
