Earlier today, we told you that G.I. Joe: Retaliation will be pushed back to a March 2013 release date in order to be converted into 3D. We’ve now learned that another movie will be taking G.I. Joe‘s vacancy.
Originally scheduled for a July 13 release date, Deadline states Ted will now hit the big screen on June 29, thanks to G.I. Joe: Retaliation being pushed back nine months.
“The movie has had so much buzz since the mnute the trailers were released that we’ve been looking to see if there was an earlier date available,” a Universal insider tells [Deadline]. “It also gives us wo more weeks of primetime summer. And allows for the word of mouth to build through the weeks up through Fourth Of July.”
Ted is Seth MacFarlane’s first movie, in which he wrote, directed, and produced. Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis star in the R-rated comedy.
