One of the most talked about new shows of this fall’s schedule has been Elementary, which has fallen victim to its fair share of controversy. Now that we’ve had out first look at the series, will you check it out?
We first heard about the pilot back in January, when it was billed as a modern-day retelling of the Sherlock Holmes stories set in New York. This garnered outrage from the BBC and the producer of BBC’s Sherlock, citing too similar a premise to their hit series. Initial casting did nothing to assuage frustration, as Jonny Lee Miller (whom had recently starred alongside Benedict Cumberbatch) was cast as the lead; but when it was announced that Lucy Liu would be playing a female Dr. Watson, fans started to realise that CBS had something potentially different on its hands.
Last week Elementary was greenlit for a full season, and we began to get a real taste of what Sherlockians could expect. Now that we know a bit more about the tone of the series, we want to know: Will you watch ‘Elementary’ when it airs this fall? Before you make your decision, why not view the first trailer for the series again? Cast your vote below, and debate your thoughts in the comments!
