Earlier this year we reported on the Doctor Who Experience that was situated in London. They’ve now moved shop over to Cardiff where the series is largely filmed.
According to the BBC
The attraction, which features sets, props and memorabilia from the BBC series, closed in London in February to make way for its move to Cardiff Bay.
The new 3,000 sq m building is at Porth Teigr, next door to the BBC’s Roath Lock studios, where Doctor Who, Casualty and Pobol y Cwm are produced.
The exhibition is expected to attract up to 250,000 visitors a year.
The internal fitting of the building will take place over the coming weeks.
The Doctor Who Experience isn’t the only thing that is relocating to Roath Lock. According to the Doctor Who Facebook page, they completed filming at the Upper Boat Studios location that they have been using since the 2005 reboot. The photos below depict the former studio’s on-theme canteen and the screen used in the Titanic episode, as well as the frontage of the Roath Lock location.
UPDATE: The Experience will be opening the doors to its distinctive new home in Cardiff Bay on 20th July! Tickets available to purchase on 14th June! Visit http://
