It’s been a busy past few days for television renewals. Most of NBC’s news came today when they announced their Fall 2012 schedule.

Since then, execs have revealed a couple additional interesting tidbits.

For one, despite reports that 30 Rock’s seventh season would be its final, NBC Entertainment Chairman Bob Greenblatt is now saying that it’s not officially the last. Not official yet, anyway.

The other big news is that The Office will have a full 22-episode season just like Parks & Rec will.

Thanks to Lacey Rose.

What about Community? Is there any hope for another season?

Community is getting one final season with 13 episodes

It has not been confirmed that it is it’s final season, though it is likely.

According to the same THR reporter cited above, Greenblatt said that none of the comedies were necessarily in final seasons. The fourth season will reportedly have 13 episodes and will then be up for renewal again just like any other year.

Ah, okay. In the Friday Death Spot, I think it’s likely it won’t be renewed :(

Apparently NBC doesn’t see Friday as a death slot, since Grimm did pretty well in it — better than it did when they had it on Thursday. However, I agree that this is probably the end of Community :(

Having it on a Friday leading into Grimm (which does well
ratings-wise) makes sense somewhat. Having it paired with Whitney,
however, makes absolutely no sense. Completely different audiences. My
guess is they’re sending Whitney there to die and hoping Community’s
loyal audience will stay with it.

I’m more worried about Dan Harmon potentially leaving, to be honest

I agree, Dan Harmon leaving is very worrisome.

And yeah, Whitney is so unappealing to everyone who watches Community. Strange move.

30 Rock, as much as I love it, needs to be in its final season. Same thing for The Office as well.

Still slightly mad that Community only got 13 episodes when P&R got a full season, when they were basically the same ratings-wise. Oh well, better than nothing. Dan Harmon better stay, however.
