He is the WORST! And we’ve known since the beginning that he is going to come back for a piece of the royalties claiming the show was his idea. In so many ways, this is taken right out of reality. If anyone is familiar with “Sunset Boulevard,” there is an odd note at the footer of at least three pieces of music that reads, “the producers gratefully acknowledge the role of Amy Powers in the development of Sunset Boulevard.” The same statement appears in all programs of the show, “The Really Useful Group Ltd. gratefully acknowledges the role of Amy Powers in the lyric development of “Sunset Boulevard.” There was talk that this was part of a settlement agreement regarding a conflict about conceptual ideas in the early stages of the development. The producers are silent on the matter, and Amy Powers has had free reign to ride that credit since 1991. Her Wikipedia page also takes FULL CREDIT for the song “As If We Never Said Goodbye” (as sung on Glee). It is a very shady part of theater…and I think it’s where Ellis is headed.
