Mark Ruffalo said plenty as Bruce Banner in The Avengers, but “the other guy” barely got a word in edgewise.

Come to think of it, Avengers fans may not have even caught Hulk’s only line of dialogue, since they were laughing so hard at the infamous “Hulk smash Loki” scene. In case your audience was too uproarious, the line was “Puny God.”

while he Was the best character in the movie, it was because Ruffalo underplayed it so well. a whole movie focused on him would just kill it.

It’s true. I was laughing so hard I missed the line the first time I saw it. Caught it the second time though. So much love for Mark/Bruce/the other guy.

I thought he said ‘demi-god’ but hilarious all the same.

    That was my favorite line

I did not care about The Hulk or Bruce Banner in the LEAST until I saw The Avengers. But after the line “I put a bullet in my mouth and the other guy spit it out.” made me fall in love with the character. There was so much power in that one line.

That was such a great line, it’s quite subtle but it really explains his situation and what he had to deal with so well.
