‘Grey’s Anatomy’s’ Patrick Dempsey, Ellen Pompeo, Sandra Oh sign 2-year deals

Good news, Grey’s Anatomy fans! The show’s originals have reportedly signed on for two more years with the ABC drama.

As Deadline reports, Ellen Pompeo (Meredith), Patrick Dempsey (Derek), Sandra Oh (Cristina), Justin Chambers (Alex), James Pickens Jr. (Webber) and Chandra Wilson (Bailey) will all be returning to Seattle Grace in the fall.

Does that mean their characters’ fates are safe? As we reported last week, one character will meet his or her end in the May 17 season finale.

Who do think will we’ll be saying goodbye to in the finale?

  I think that’s a little dark for Grey’s. But it would be interesting. We haven’t had a suicide on the show before.

Just want to point out that a spoiler alert would have been fantastic. I know you reported that spoiler but I never read it, and now you’re repeating it in a different article with no spoiler alerts. :/

Oh thank goodness. Even though I didn’t want to know this until after the season finale, it releaves my brain to know they’ll be coming back. But I agree with what someone else said, spoiler alerts would be nice, I’m definitely not clicking in that link. At least we only have tonight and next Thursday to find out! ( in the US). I think I can wait that long.

Phew. Meredith and Christina and the heart of the show for me, and if they left, I don’t think I would have adjusted to the show. I was afraid it would have been like when Peyton and Lucas left One Tree Hill- I tried watching it for a while, but it turned into a completely different show and I couldn’t learn to enjoy it. If/when Ellen Pompeo leaves, it also needs to be the end of the show.

  I agree. I like Lexi but I don’t believe she could have led the show like Meredith does. So relived to hear all of the originals are staying.
