Disney confirms ‘Avengers 2′ in development

Good news – and perhaps not very surprising at all. Avengers 2 is in development, says Disney!

Over the weekend the film claimed the Highest Opening Weekend record (taken away from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2) with an astonishing 207.4 million.

What do you hope to see in the Avengers sequel? No time frame for release has been set, unfortunately.

Joss Whedon.
That is all.
Without the level of involvment he had in Avengers, it won’t work. They NEED Joss, and I hope they realize that.

JOSS WHEDON BETTER BE DIRECTING THE SEQUEL. Sorry for going caps crazy, but that’s how true that statement is. If they get anyone else, the sequel will sooo fail.

I don’t see why they wouldn’t include Joss; the producers seemed very happy with his decisions, and unlike the Hunger Games or Harry Potter series, the plot isn’t predetermined.

they better have josh. HE did what nolan did for batman. If josh doesn’t direct it. I will just stick with the first Avengers.

They have an option to bring back Joss Whedon. And I have to say, if they don’t exercise it, or let him slip through their fingers, they are stupid. He is ENTIRELY the reason the movie turned out as great as it is.

Asgard needs to be in the next one, no way the can make the case of going to different worlds or the knowledge of them with out it

  But the Avengers are meant to be defenders of Earth, so to pack them all off to Asgard or some other planet wouldn’t be very fitting. Especially when Thanos is around. With him The Avengers 2 will be so much of an anyone can die extravaganza that I don’t think it’ll be necessary for them to include other worlds.

    especially if they do push the other movie options forward, the Guardians of the Galaxy and The Inhumans ideas, the other worlds will be explained enough…….

I really hope they do Avengers 2 in 2016, then Avengers 3 in 2017 to cap out the franchise.

Someone was saying that Whedon might focus more on the characters, and less on the bigness of it all (huge war and special effects) which I would personally like to see. I would hate it if they tried to bloat the film with more explosions, like so many action movie sequels do. I don’t know if they could get any bigger than this, and since Thanos is a villain that plays more mind games than conquer, I think they could find a way to make another amazing film.

As everybody else is saying Joss needs to direct it, without him the sequel would be nowhere near as good as the first.

The only requirements I have for the sequel are Joss Whedon, Mark Ruffalo, and Loki.

  Ah, Tom Hiddleston. He makes it difficult to root against Loki at times, that charmer. I pretty much want everyone back.

    Haha. I agree. I meant as far as things that might not actually happen. The others are sure to be in it, but I don’t want anyone to change their minds on Joss writing and directing, Mark playing Bruce Banner, and it would just really be nice to have Loki in there somewhere because I can’t get enough of him. ^^
