Lost creator Damon Lindelof recently spoke about the hit show and whether he thinks it could go any further. But don’t expect his name to be attached.

Lindelof, who spoke to Variety about the use of social media as a barometer for television, thinks that ABC may be interested in the development of more Lost-based programming:

“It’s been two years (since the series wrapped) and we told the story we wanted to tell,” Lindelof said. But he admits ABC might look for ways to bring back “Lost” in some form. “I do feel like the world has not seen the end of ‘Lost,’ but I’m not going to have any involvement,” he said.

With that being said, he’s not necessarily worried about the idea:

“It would be hypocritical for me to say I’m going to do ‘Star Trek’ but I don’t want anyone to touch ‘Lost,’

A couple of us here at Hypable are particularly excited that there could be future shows based in the universe of Lost!

Are there any Losties out there squealing about this idea, or do you think that the show can only exist with Damon and Carlton?

Initial instinct is to freak out over this because I am a Lostie and want more Lost, however if Damon would not be apart of it I could be skeptical. I really don’t want to see something I love tarnished.

Most likely a show about Ben and Hurley

it was an april fools joke that i saw but could work, a prequel involving Dharmas creation and Hanzo. Also the storylines of Eloise Hawking and Charles Widmore on the Island and in the flash sideways

I think it would be neat to see Aaron and all the other kids of the main characters grown up… There’s Sun and Jin’s daughter,  and Desmond’s son, and I think there’s a few others as well. And then THEY all get tossed together and brought to the Island. How cool would that be?! :D

      Cool idea!

It would have to be in the hands of someone INCREDIBLY capable if not Damon and Carlton.

I’m very excited at the thought of ABC developing more Lost-universe stuff. It would be hard to do it the same way as Darlton but I would up for giving it a chance.

My first thought was that the show could continue in comic form like Buffy, Firefly etc.

I don’t think Lost needs to come back. Don’t get me wrong I’m a huge fan, I just think the story was told, and doesn’t need rehashing.

NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean Lost and Star Trek are very different types of shows. Lost was one single story with a very clear beginning middle and end. We need NO MORE of it now that its done. Damon, Carlton, and all the writers finished there work on it and now it’s OVER.

Im killing for the day when Hollywood finally gets the principle “if it ain’t broke, don’t try and fix it”

anybody else see the Oceanic Airline plane on Once Upon a Time last night?

I’d love to see more storylines that take place without the crash victims – that said, I think they certainly need to reel back in the original writers if they’re going to be without Lindelof and Cuse.

I really don’t think this is a good idea. I feel like it’s a cash grab and that, if it went ahead, it would lack heart and understanding of what fans liked about the series.

the only LOST I would consider watching is if it was JJ Abrams

  • Nutty

Cautiously intrigued.  There are SO MANY subplots they could turn into a whole show, so I can’t dismiss the idea until I actually see it executed.  I’m actually rewatching LOST at the moment, so this came at just the right time.

I am a huge LOST fan and I would love if the show had more episodes. But I feel like its already told its story. It has a beginning, middle, and end. Everything’s been wrapped up and I love it the way it is. I think trying to recreate it or adding new story lines would ruin it. Just my opinion.
