Josh Hutcherson addresses new ‘Catching Fire’ director: ‘It’s gonna be a fun ride’

Speaking last night at the GLAAD Media Awards, Josh Hutcherson (who plays Peeta in The Hunger Games) shared some brief thoughts on the news that Francis Lawrence will direct Catching Fire.

Said Hutcherson to THR:

“I’m excited to meet him,” Hutcherson said of newly named Catching Fire director, Francis Lawrence. “I’ve heard amazing things about him, so it’s gonna be a fun ride.”

The day before Gary Ross had left Catching Fire, the actor notably said that there was no choice but Ross for the film.

It’s good to hear him being perspective and welcoming new views. Personally this is what I think we should all be doing. Looking forward to what the new director has to bring instead of dwelling on Gary Ross leaving. It has passed and we might as well be positive.

        the only similarities between potter and HG is huge fanbase, popular hit movies (including poa- who some of us have no problem with),
        
        and now changing director.
        
        but while some people bitch and moan about poa, and it’s change of director- it was Not a death sentence- if it has been harry potter wouldn’t have been nominated for anything.
        
        so take a deep breath and wait this one out
        
        if after catching fire comes out, everyone says it sucks- you’ll get your point
        
        until then, suck it up and stop bitching on something that hasn’t happened.

Im glad that he’s excited to film CF…I understand why he said what he said about Gary, considering that thats what more than half the fandom said too..
