The full-length international trailer for David Cronenberg’s (Eastern Promises) new film Cosmopolis, starring Robert Pattinson, has been released. The trailer also arrives with the news the film will premiere at Cannes in May.

The official synopsis:

Cosmopolis is based on the novel by Don DeLillo, and follows newly married billionaire Eric Packer (Pattinson) as he cheats on his wife, is pursued by a stalker (Paul Giamatti), gets attacked by a protester and gradually loses his entire fortune over the course of a single day.

While yet to receive U.S. distribution, the film is set to premiere at Cannes in May followed by a May 23 release in France. Watch the trailer below, thanks to Rope of Silicon:

Doesn’t look bad at all.  I hope I can see it in theater.

I would hate if all this happened to me on the way to get my hair cut.

Robert Pattinson actually looks so good in this movie, and I’m not a huge fan. Glad he’s showing some real potential.

Like in Twilight too, he’s amazing in those films!

      • Zack

I can’t tell if you are being sarcastic or actually really like his acting.

  • Jael

You know a movie has potential to be great when your Robert Pattinson hating roommate admits she would want to see it.

Ok, this looks pretty good, but can somebody tell me why it’s getting SO much hype?
I mean, it even beat out The Hunger Games on that one poll, if I recall (I think it was on MTV’s website). Is it just because of Pattinson?
