Sony has teased a new game for the past week or so and it looks like that game is the next entry in the God of War franchise, titled Ascension.
The title was leaked a day early of the planned April 19 announcement by a product listing on Amazon.
God of War: Ascension appears to be a prequel to the original trilogy, though not much else is known about the game. The official product description on Amazon reads: “Join Kratos as he seeks freedom, redemption, and the clarity to avenge his family in the most ambitious God of War adventure in the series so far.”
The page is active at the time of this posting and indicates the game is set to release sometime in 2013 for the PlayStation 3 but no official date has been given.

Stay tuned as Sony is sure to release more information when the game is officially unveiled on April 19.

Update: Sony has confirmed the game via the PlayStation Blog this morning. Game Director Todd Pappy also says we can expect to learn more about God of War: Ascension on April 30.
