Nintendo has confirmed that it will announce a new Super Mario Bros. for its upcoming Wii U console in June at E3.
Develop Shigeru Miyamoto reportedly told the Spanish newspaper El Mundo an entry in Nintendo’s biggest franchise was being worked on for the Wii U and would make an appearance in June. This report was later confirmed by Eurogamer.
“In a recent interview, Mr. Miyamoto confirmed that a new Super Mario Bros. game for the Wii U system will be shown at this year’s E3 Expo,” said a Nintendo spokesperson. “We’ll have more to announce about our plans for the E3 Expo at a later date.”
Nintendo has recently registered the domain SuperMario4.com, which was believed to be a side-scroller for the 3DS but now is likely to be the Wii U game in question.
What are you hoping for out of a new Super Mario game? Would this increase the likelihood you purchasing a Wii U if you hadn’t planned on it before?
